Hibbert - Sell

Nash - Gone
Baxter - Loan

Ruddy - Loan

Keep everyone else.

If Neville moves back to the anchor role (atleast until Fellaini is fit) and Heitinga partners Jags at the back, then Hibbo would be backup for Coleman.

I'd still lose another one of the keepers.

I notice than Vaughan got 10 minutes for Leicester at the weekend. It would be very pleasing if he could show his Premiership class, as Jutkiewicz, Ruddy and Coleman have done. It would be interesting to see what Duffy and Baxter could do at league level.

Lol

"Agh no strength in depth"

Lol

"Sell everyone"

I see your point. It's natural to keep trimming away the dead wood though and to replace them with players who give the manager options. Ideally we'll get to a situation where we don't want to lose anybody.

Its the whole 2 in, 2 out philosophy that. 2 young players come in 2 older players move on......

The thing with the Goose is that ability to pop up the box and either score or get a chance...he needs games. But with us, that goal threat is massive especially for a young lad.

Very similar to Bilyaletdinov- his contribution is very often minimal apart from his goals. The thing that bugs me is that Davey plays Bily on the right when, as we saw on his debut, his left-footed delivery from the byeline and from setpieces is something else.

Maybe Gosling and Coleman could work as a partnership down the right hand side?

Im gonna stick my neck out and say...Vaughan's a crock and should be loaned out all season, or sold.

I've always said Heitinga can play right back, does so for his country, won Athletico's POY at right back I think. You've also go Yobo, Distin and I wouldnt mind Senderos to work with Jags at centre half.

Pip might have to sit out, pass the baton. Hibbo should be gone.

You do have to constantly be renewing and refreshing the squad. Very often, it's how you balance the books too....sell the finished article for a profit and reinvest into promising younger players to develop.

Whilst I dont agree that he should be sold, he must defo be loaned out next Season, if only to see if he can ever play 20+ games a Season.

When Gosling plays more than 10minutes he contributes well, did so last season against Stoke and Boro when he played nearly an hour if I can remember well. Never gives up. When Di Maria tore the arse out of him when we played Benfica he never gave up and chased every ball. He's far more effective than Osman on the wing too IMO.

He's supposed to be fully fit now and has played 10minutes of footy in almost a month for a Championship side.

Compared that to Coleman who's lit up Blackpool like the illuminations.

I think we need to pave the way for Coleman to stake a claim at rightback. I think that Heitinga would be wasted at fullback. He proved what a good centreback he already is earlier in the season. It would be very interesting to see what sort of partnership he could form with Jags. They're both quick, strong and read the game well.

Vaughan might be a bit of a Matt Jansen type player. I'd like to see him do well. He's missed a lot of football. Maybe a season out on loan will kickstart his career. I think he's got more natural class and ability than Beckford.

I tend to agree that Neville will get squeezed out of the team before too long. I can see him becoming a club captain and maybe Cahill, Jags or Arteta taking over as team captain.

I've always had a problem with height at centre half...although Heit and Jags would be a class pairing, I think Yobo or Senderos even Distin would add some power and height to the back 4.

But Heit wouldnt be wasted at right back, he is a right back for the most part. Would also get a chance to ping some balls in, be good defensively as well as composed going forward.

This might end up being a long thread, but here goes. Taking the current squad, and starting with the most important player to us, rank them in terms of expendability. Kind of like the MVP (Most Valuable Player) in the US.

Here's mine:

Arteta
Pienaar
Saha
Baines
Jagielka
Cahill
Fellaini
Neville
Howard
Heitinga
Yakubu
Bilyaletdinov
Osman
Rodwell
Yobo
Distin
Hibbert
Coleman
Anichebe
Vaughan
Gosling
Senderos
Duffy
Nash
Baxter
Wallace
Jutkiewicz
Turner
Ruddy
Agard

Heitinga after arteta and peinaar for me. Other than that pretty much agree. Have to say Vaughan and anichebe offer different options but really are much if a muchness.

The players I hope will leave in the summer and be replaced with better or younger players are:

GK Nash
GK Turner
RB Neville
CB Distin
DM Peterlin
CM Osman
AM Cahill
ST Vaughan
ST Jutkiewicz
ST Arnoux

Cahill and osman?! Asking for a reaction on here or what?!

Osman is to inconsistent to be in the squad. He will be great a few times a season and be invisable the rest of it. We need a player who can give a consistent performance on the bench if we want to sustain a challange to the top 4.

And Cahill has been awful this season. He just doesnt suit our style of player and slows down our attack. It would be better to sell him now while he is around 30 to a team like Stoke or Bolton and get in a creative player for the hole or even put Arteta there and get a new CM.
