Confirmed Signing Davy Klaassen

Klaassen is a deflating signing if it happens.

Not one of the CL spot chasing teams would touch him and that's my worry, as well as seeing him in the odd game or so and he hasn't looked first rate.

It's a hell of a gamble with the thick end of £30M.
I can't see how you would regard it as a deflating signing!! We haven't got the attraction of champions league football to entice the bigger name players. Unfortunately for the time being we need to be signing players from the level below top bracket in the hope we can reach that level. Liverpool did this last year with the Mane signing and before with Lallana Firminho and Coutinho.

That's just were we are at the moment, if Walsh and Koeman think Klassen improves us then it's a gamble we need to take. Big risk but we shall see how it plays out.

There's no way Klaassen is at that level.

Lukaku comes from Zaire and played in the Belgium league. Yaya Toure played in the Ivory Coast and Ukraine until he was 22.

Lukaku was born in Antwerp (Belgium). Zaire was the name of DR Congo from +- 1971-1997. Most Congolese prefer the current name since Zaire is inseperably linked with Mobutu.

Yaya Toure only played for 1 year in Ukraine. Before that from 2001 until 2004 he played for Beveren (Belgium) and l'academie JM Guillou in the Ivory Coast.

..I don't see this fella producing much in the way of wow factor but he looks the type every team need, not just from an industrious perspective but from a possession point of view. From what I have seen he's not only an accurate passer of a football, he can join in with good players and moves the ball quickly.

I don't mind that he plays in the Dutch league because Holland produce good footballers. At 25 he captained a team that got to the EL final, even if he didn't have his best game in that match.

Thanks for that . Your Zaire info has given me something to wiki during this boring Monday afternoon.
