2025/26 David Moyes

Had a couple of off topic reports in this thread - the bold below;

In isolation, yes - that @davek post is off topic. But as is often the case, others proactively tag him into a debate - in this case, accusing him of wanting Everton to lose. He replies, and then people complain/report that he’s taking the thread off topic.

@davek - please reflect on your posting style, particularly what I’ve mentioned before about monopolising threads. Use multi-quote where possible and allow time between posts. And if people are tagging/baiting you into an off-topic discussion, don’t respond - report it.

More broadly: too many threads are turning into ongoing, petty point-scoring between the same people, repeating the same arguments, and dragging topics off course. Let’s keep discussions constructive and on topic.

As moderators we probably need to start deploying thread bans for thread monopolising - nobody wants to keep hearing the same voice/opinion over and over.

On the thread bans..

Do you think this will happen
Or do you expect this will happen

I’m guilty of this. I’ll resolve to do better in 2026.

Thinking is prediction.

Expecting is psychological ownership of an outcome that hasn’t happened yet.

I can understand why you'd struggle to grasp the difference, but there definitely is one.
But I resist the reduction of psychological phenomena to a physical state and insist there is no point of contact between the extended and the unextended.

To be fair to Moyes he is trying something today. God knows Patto probably won't save his career and Rohl may or may not impress in that midfield 3, but we definitely needed a change. We have to get these 3 today. We dropped Burnley so we need these.
They're forced changes, really. Wouldn't call it trying something.

You know what forced changes or not thats actually a attacking side.

I just hope we attack and dont try to defend with that side and whenever possible dont pass to McNeil!
