2025/26 David Moyes

Moyes been poor this
"We didn't manage large parts of the second half well"

You're the MANAGER Moyes! That's your job to do.
Yeah, everyone could see the midfield 3 where getting dominated / bullied , you have Alcaraz, Tim and Rohl both big athletic lads on bench and you do nothing until 80min , sorry you swapped the strikers again and bought Mcneil on haha

And in that one we needed Brighton to miss some sitters.

We've played genuinely well once this season - at Wolves - and we nearly threw that away.

Decent enough v Brighton and Villa. Otherwise, largely garbage.
We have won 3 games all season and only deserved 1 of those wins.

We are sleepwalking into a relegation battle.

Looks like he is in a complete rut , same team same outcome and is that scared of getting dragged down to the bottom he hasn't the bollocks to change it.
Better wake up because these yanks will not put up with this for to long.
Feel like we've gone into this pattern with every manager since...Moyes.

Subs start getting later or worse while the tactics get figured out by the rest of the league. I'm sure some players are decent, hardworking people behind the scenes, but they never get dropped or keep getting second chances while others are frozen out.

You can see now why West Ham fans bitterly turned on him..also he's very arrogant and less than honest in post match interviews. Only been watching the highlights of our games this season, I knew this was coming. He's been brought in to keep us up for the first few seasons in the new stadium so we will avoid the humiliation of playing in the championship having just moved in. That's about it really.

He spent a fortune at West Ham with a massive conveyor belt of crap players signed.

Then praised for Bowen, Soucek, Paqueta and apparently takes all credit for Rice. Pin the tail on the donkey type recruitment.

I've had it up to my ears with him now.

There’s absolutely no guarantee he makes the summer, I don’t know why people keep assuming he gets that long.

Do you think TFG expect a season of us being bottom 6?

I think they'll monitor the situation as the season progresses. But I think they'll be wary of destabilising the club or antagonising the local and national media who Moyes has in his pocket.

They'll defo be on manoeuvres looking for his replacement though.

I think the good news is that if we start to get into trouble and TFG punt him, we have a squad that the right manager could get a tune out of - unlike the last few years where Dyche and Moyes have got some seasoned pros to scrap it out. Imagine what modern tactical coaches like Iraola or Glasner could do with us.
Iraola couldn't do anything with it, his teams are all about pace and high pressure and we don't have many players capable of that. Glasner would definitely get more of a tune out of the squad though.

Like any manager, he'll get sacked if results don't pick up.

Given the fixtures, 1 win in 8 isn't good enough.

The yanks can see promoted teams all doing ok, Forest, West Ham should pick up, maybe Wolves too.

Moyes doesn't seem bothered.
Look back to his first spell with us......he had similar stats nearly every season but always came up with just as good winning stats in spurts. He is an inconsistent manager that will over a season have us in a safe position but not enough to ever challenge for much. He is at least consistent with his management

I just wanted him to stabilise things for this season and next.

A joyless mid table finish was all I was expecting from Moyes.

It shouldn't be that hard tbh.

The question is could another manager do better with this squad. Probably but also risk we get it badly wrong.

Moyes ability to suck the energy/optimism out of clubs/squads is world class.

Judging by some of the local journalists tweets tonight, I really don’t think Moyes has that much credit in the bank with them at all.

We have won 1 in 8. We are in a downward spiral, no form, no goals in us, a defence that concedes every week, and a Manager who seems to be oblivious.

He is absolutely on borrowed time.

He'll be gone in the summer, but that will raise questions as to how he was able to install his best mates into key recruitment positions that should in theory be independent from him
