2025/26 David Moyes

We'd changed almost every single area and partnership on the pitch- striker, wingers, midfield, goalkeeper and the cherry on the top a 36 year old right back in the left back position.

I'm not sure if I was actively trying to lose the game I could have come up with many more changes.
It's not like they ran a bollock off during the derby really is it?
We definitely could have started the first team and changed it if we were winning. Much more preferable but alas here we are.

Ultimately, you know, you have to say it's the owner's fault.

He was weak when he needed to be ruthless. End of the season in May he should have told Moyes "Thanks, but we wont be requiring your services. Our vision for the club doesn't involve you".

Moyes grabbed a lucrative two year contract handed him by poorly advised owners, and who can blame him for that? He's not a fan of Everton. WTF does he care?

Well TFG do have some experience of what they have here now; who they've hired - so I expect them to act when the time comes next summer.

It's easy to be reactionary an hour after a poor result. yodavek was in his X-wing 10 seconds after the final whistle.
Tonight was bad, but it doesn't define the 8 months he's had.

Remember people complaining about Doucoure, Harrison, Lindstrom etc? We've gone from relegation fighters to expectation of league winners, quicker than any side in history, Moyes fault or the expectation holders?

Give the man a competent striker.
If Moyes was a new manager who'd never managed us before you would have more of a point. But we've all watched Moyes for 10 years at Everton and we know him inside out. Half a good season isn't going to change Davek's mind and to be honest it's not going to change mine. Moyes is the master of the great half season when it counts for nothing.

He picked Barry didn't he? His track record on strikers is pretty poor so I won't hold my breath.

Better than fighting for our lives isn't it.
Why not have safety AND a place in the next round of the cup? I mean, we can keep baselining our progress against a squad that was 140m cheaper in the worst period of our modern history if we like, but a bit of a cup run when up against sides we CAN compete against, turning up in the derby from kick-off, AND mid-table security shouldn't be too much to ask for. Nobody is asking for a trophy or even an Anfield draw. But, my God, if we can't even aspire to those things without being accused of being demanding what chance will we ever have?

I feel like we are the cause of our downfall. I wouldn't mind if we went out there tonight and tried to win. It's losing the way we did. On the back of a derby defeat, being belittled by 59000 fans, it should inspire you to want to thrash Wolves and move into the next round. Tonight reminded me of Leeds and players thinking they only have to show up. There was no desire to win, there's no drive in these players, go out there and be the best you can possibly be.

If we'd got to the semis or the final and lost you'd be spamming this thread calling Moyes a life long choker. And you know you would. He will never win in some of your eyes.

We can aspire to it.

He played the back up squad and changed it about a bit and it went knees up. It didn't happen today so we move on.

That's the thing about cup games, they're a one off.

Places should be EARNED, not given.

5 Premier League games in and with 6 days until our next game, why bring on players who are FIRST CHOICE.

Strong from the get go and use our subs later on.

Utterly unacceptable and another year without any effort

100% mate, they completely bottled the appointment and went for mr comfortable. Not only that they upended the whole structure of the club for him.
