I hope Moyes gets next season.

He should have done enough but we do have trigger happy owners who sacked 3 managers in 10 months.
All about expectations levels I guess.

Mine are that next season we finish no lower than about 10th, assuming we back him in the market and we aren't freakishly unlucky with injuries

I don't know what sort of expectation levels the new owners have for next season, so it'll all come down to that.

I would hope by the end of Moyes's initial 2.5 year contract that we are top 7/8. If that's the case, there's a strong argument for him to continue but at the same time you could argue he's built a base for someone else to take forward.

Dunno, but as long as he doesn't massively underperform against expectations I'd think/hope he at least sees this contract out

He was either the right man, or he wasn't.

If Dyche had got a few more wins and stumbled on until the summer - if they wouldn't have appointed him fresh this summer, then they shouldn't persist with him for doing 'enough' over a handful of games.

Just like it wasn't for Allardyce - lashed knowing they wanted Silva.

This summer is the most important rebuild for the club in Prem era. Misplaced loyalty/feeling of deserving shouldn't be in the clubs thinking.

TFG need to make sure whoever they think is the best for the job, has it this summer. Worrying about perception/a feeling of what is deserved/what fans think would be a mistake.

….very good point actually. Hard to find but one of those really top strikers who’s capable of scoring goals from nothing.
I did see an alleged insider quote yesterday that we are apparently sniffing around "names that would surprise you".

Here's hoping!

Definitely this. If he can get us to 7/8 then job done as far as I'm concerned. Same with Dyche keeping us up (comfortably) with the points deductions.
In both cases I would argue they've done what is demanded of them and I would have no expectation they could push any further.

If they would have given Moyes a short contract, I’d agree but it’s widely reported to be a 2.5 year contract. Our transfer budget will take a massive hit if he goes and as someone who didn’t really want Moyes, I honestly don’t think Carlo/Pep/Conte etc. could have done a better job than Moyes has done so far, he’s 100% staying now. If there wasn’t really a visible improvement and we just carried on in a similar way to the Dyche performances, I could see the case for him going but it would send completely the wrong message if he goes after the job he’s done.
