Puts it in perspective:

“Everton lost their first four Premier League games, won just two of the first 13, and were just one point clear of the relegation zone when David Moyes was appointed for a second time in January.

“They're now 15 points clear with seven games left and can start planning for another season in the Premier League at their brand new home at Bramley-Moore Dock.

“What a job Moyes has done.”

I think the most optimistic opinion is that he is using these players to "prove" the squad is crap now its safe from relegation.

To point out to the board and owners he needs huge investment and that HE should be the one signing the players.

To show that Broja, Gana, Harrison and Doucoure are all (currently) going to be off in the summer and they need replacing with expensive starters.

Or that they need extensions to remain in the squad plus further money to bring in starters.

I dont believe for one second that it makes any logical sense to use Doucoure over Alcaraz or an on loan injury prone donkey in Broja over an Everton contracted player.

Harrison is just crap.

Beto will be sold this summer.
Broja will only be here if a loan.
Harrison won't be here.

The only point really is Alcaraz not playing - but we know there's clauses around him, so we have to trust the manager/club know what they're doing there.

Hard to have trust in the club when over the last 8 years or so they have brought so many poor players in.

I think the frightening prospect is to trust Moyes with transfers.

Look at how much crap hes signed for other teams. Hes no Thelwell.

New owners
New stadium
New manager (sort of)
New appointments to recruitment staff….

It’s possible things will be different and maybe even better for the next 8 years and going forward.
We thought things were on the up the last time we got a new owner, and every time we hired a new manager, and every time we had new appointments to recruitment staff. Its the fact that we have a lot to be optimistic about that has me feeling like the next big disappointment isn`t far away.

not sure what you are arguing. Everyone is happy with steady improvement under Moyes. Football is better. It’s disingenuous to argue that even with tracking a point a game that Dyche wouldn’t have had had us looking safe by now.

Stats wise Moyes has likely got us four more points.

Ipswich, Southampton and Leicester have barely had a win between them since January. Couldn’t have got relegated if tried this season.

Appreciate this is all in hindsight
