No, im hoping we can get the recruitment right and challenge for a European place. He's tired, he's stale, he lacks ambition...but he'll get us 40 points.
I think that's what you and others are saying here.

Correct mate.
Moyes is defo not the man to rebuild this team. It calls for a new manager with the motivation and vision to propel us where we belong: top half of the table and never leave there again; Euro places most seasons and the chance of cup successes. That's what we should be demanding as a minimum.
I will NEVER dumb down my expectations of Everton: like you, have been to the top of the mountain and I want us back there again.
These other posters who think carny-wearing dullard is best for Everton have lost any idea of what Everton is about.
We have a world class stadium and they still dream about 40 points per season.
Let's be bold. Let's get back up there as contenders...it;s a crap league and it wont take much besides a very handy new manager and a bit of spending.

You wake up, there is plenty of cash. There's no cash. Wake up FFS.
Moyes will be ok with that. No expectation.
If he stays - ok. I wont be arsed.
But I hope he does leave ASAP.
He wasn't who TFG wanted and I cant see them not sweeping clean at the first opportunity. IMO it'd be far better to get shut of him now.
…but I think they’ll want to build from a foundation of stability.
The bottom clubs are very poor but beyond that the league is much of a muchness, probably a dozen teams you can throw a blanket over. Finishing around the top of that group would make a huge difference in the short-term.
There'll be enough cash to get us a bit more competitive. You wake up, there is plenty of cash.
The team that played in the 2009 cup final was the peak of team 1.
Then he rebuilt a handy second team.
But that was a young and hungry Moyes.
This feller cant even be arsed looking at our new world class stadium...
Well if the League is tripe, then thank God we have a Manager who knows it better than most. There'll be enough cash to get us a bit more competitive.
My point is that if we do that with a new manager who looks to play open attacking football and go for it we can miss out the 'base' stability year Moyes offers and get straight to Europe again.
I cant say it enough: THIS LEAGUE IS TRIPE.
It's hard to know what would be considered enough of an improvement without knowing what we'll spend but still Moyes will have to deliver a season of relative comfort at the very least. There'll be enough cash to get us a bit more competitive.

Well, I'd hardly call the last 40-odd years a roaring success. Even then we very very nearly managed to get relegated on several occasions. We literally are too big to fail.
For all the increased skill, fitness and athleticism on display, modern football is tripe. The league can't help but reflect that ...I cant say it enough: THIS LEAGUE IS TRIPE.
But the team that played in the 2009 cup final had pretty much been together since 2006?!
Think we are seeing that moyes and Dyche have the same problem. It’s the lack of ability in the squad.Well we were 1 point better off than Ipswich and on course for 34 points so I’d suggest he was.

If he doesn't then he'll come under pressure anyway. That seems to be how TFG roll and it's just the way things are in the game now too. Any credit banked for the job done since he came back will soon be forgotten if we are down amongst the plodders in the bottom six.
I think our potential development is restrained to a degree whilst he's here but that's easy to say considering where we've been. I have no expectation that he'll still be here at the end of his contract and don't want to see him leave before that either as it means he will have failed and we've had enough upheaval.
