Never mind keeping Rooney on the bench, I remember he left Drenthe at home when we played Liverpool in the cup SF in 2012.

Drenthe would have been the ideal player off the bench to have pressed Liverpool back into their own half and relieve pressure when we'd taken the lead.

Sgt Maj. Moyes knows best though. The 'kin divvy.

Is this the same drenthe that said he massively regrets his behaviour through his career and at Everton the most ?

Please remind me what drenthe did with his career after leaving us ?

Unless the Fellaini money was kept back until the following season that doesn’t match up with the timeline. Lukaku initially joined on loan in the summer window of 2013. We didn’t buy him outright until the following summer.

So technically he didn’t have to sell Fellaini for Rom. If anything the money was probably part used on McCarthy, Kone and McGeady (Jan)

So Kenwright pulled the Lukaku fee from his backside mate, c'mon where else did we get it ? That Fellaini deal was paid in instalments like most transfer fees, like Lukaku's fee, the money from Fellaini enabled us to buy Lukaku on the never never. Don't forget reputable banks wouldn't lend us money towards the end of Bills tenure he said as much himself, we were using off shore, high interest loans to get by.

Didn't Drenthe go to pick his car up at 3am from Finch Farm after being out on a bender just a couple of days before the semi final?

Let's give credit were credit is due. Dyche has assembled this squad but stopped getting a tune out of them. Moyes has come in and relieved the pressure massively.

"Unbeaten in six league matches (W4, D2). - 14 points earned- 14 goals scored. The David Moyes effect 𝐢𝐬 clear and obvious".
Let's indeed give credit where credit is due - to Moyes.

Dyche had absolutely genuinely 0 idea how to use any of these (granted - mostly average) Premier League footballers and made people think they're some Sunday league outfit while not learning anything along the way and being clueless for 99% of the time.

Moyes came in and saw what they can do and got results within a week, while playing actual football, because he's a better manager.

Similar to what @davep said above - I thought he'd be more of the same, etc., but he's proven he's back to his best self and is actually pragmatic, not what people were gaslighting themselves that Dyche was. I'll gladly eat this humble pie for now; maybe next year he'll be similar to how he was at WHam, but I doubt it - this is likely to be his last (or at least last big) job and he's tied to the history of the club in quite a big way so no doubt he'll want to see out his contract and leave on a high note, as much as that is down to him.

Some proper whoppers on here, unreal some of the arguments and issues they have with the manager who has come in and turned the side completely around in just days.

Did I want moyes back?

Im big and ugly enough to admit that I absolutely did not.

Did I think he would have the impact he has done?

Absolutley not, although I did believe he would do better than the snot crusted custodian coward who continually talked the club and players down.

Has he impressed me with what he’s done to the team and players since he came back?

1000000000% - i think he’s a better manager than the one that left us, which will only help us going forward.

I find it very odd that some are looking to have a go or find issues from years ago now when the manager has pulled us out the crap with weeks to spare.

Why look for issues or negatives after the several awful, depressing, worrying, gut-wrenching seasons of near disaster that we’ve all experienced? I don’t get it at all, but is suppose misery loves company - well, I’m choosing not to be miserable.

Will he make mistakes in future and frustrate us - of course he will, but I’m willing to give the man a chance and hopefully with the support from TFG we can challenge for European places in the coming seasons.

Let’s give Goodison the send off she deserves and Let’s enjoy this more positive ride; get behind Moyes, his back room team, the players and TFG and make BMD an unbelievable home for our future, and get Everton back to where we belong as a football club.

The issue here is that Moyes Mk1 made some shocking decisions at KEY moments that stopped any realistic chances of a breakthrough success.

That is sustained. And anyone who lived through all of his time here first time around knows that to be the case.
I lived through his first time here, and you don't speak for me pal. Moyes isn't perfect but what I remember is that he overachieved massively on a pretty consistent basis to an extent that's been proven even more impressive by the crap that followed.

At the end of that season he was sold to regulation-struggling Russian team Alania Vladikavkaz where he managed an impressive 6 appearances over the season. From there he went to another 9 clubs in the next 9 years 🤣
