Next up on the list, Pistone was dropped for a game against Charlton. In my opinion it comes close.
I guess we had a good result in the press conference and they are going to the next section of emergency criticism. I think it must be titled 'Players that most fans have forgotten that Moyes left out of the squad'.

On the flip side of this argument though, he randomly brought on Van Der Meyde to set up Goslings goal in the derby replay. Now that was a stroke of genius![]()
It’s such a common criticism that you only included your own example from 2012.How long have you been supporting Everton?
If you were around in 2012 then you'll know it was a VERY common criticism made about Moyes after that SF that his own ego at being seen to be the boss denied us a genuine chance to beat them and get into a cup final.
Take a look....
...could you ever, EVER have seen a manager like Royle or Kendall shooting themselves through both feet like that to include some washed up, broken down crock like McFadden?
He's dropped some bollocks in the past, but that has to be top of the pile. And he and his spin doctors can **** right off if they come out with some bullshit about 'family matters' re Drenthe.

Or, maybe, the result would have been the same.
And there is no way of knowing if we had got battered with him on the pitch because he was still off his face.Exactly...
What might have been, eh?
The issue here is that Moyes Mk1 made some shocking decisions at KEY moments that stopped any realistic chances of a breakthrough success. And there is no way of knowing if we had got battered with him on the pitch because he was still off his face.

Remember the old adage-:
“Opinions are like bum holes, everyone’s got one”.
It’s just your opinion and it’s no more valid than others who think the opposite.
Rooney legs had gone by his late twenties. Imagine if Moyes had run him into the ground as a 16/17 year old as you seemed to want.I remember him mostly for not knowing where, when or how to play Wayne Rooney keeping him on the bench for many games when Rooney was most probably the best player we have ever brought through the club in our history— I hope he doesn’t leave Alcaraz on the bench too much now with the limited talent skill wise this squad has got.
But are you forgetting that Moyes made the TV companies switch to the adverts so those of us watching on TV couldn’t enjoy it. Absolutely disgraceful behaviour by Moyes. In my opinion it comes close.

I live lived through his entire first spell ( by far the best time to be an Everton fan by the way in my lifetime) and I couldn’t disagree with you more. Hindsight is always 20:20. Best British manager of his generation. The issue here is that Moyes Mk1 made some shocking decisions at KEY moments that stopped any realistic chances of a breakthrough success.
That is sustained. And anyone who lived through all of his time here first time around knows that to be the case.

Total BS. We have been a complete disaster virtually everyone season he wasn’t in charge since the 90s. The only decent seasons without him were the Kanchelskis season and the Martinez season (and that one was 90% down to Moyes and 10% down to Chelsea giving us Lukaku). You really do enjoy making a fool of yourself. We won f.a.
We played some ok football for about 10% of the time.
The only thing Moyes had going for him was he kept us relegation-proof.
That is all.
