His record a West Ham is excellent. Best performing British manager during that period.

The thing is, he was desperate for this job and will give it everything. Who else is a viable candidate?
That would be a question for the committee responsible for appointing him. Who else was on their shortlist?

Part of my lack of enthusiasm stems from the fact it very much looks like we went running straight for Moyes rather than sounding out the likes of Allegri and the fella from Milan whose name escapes me. May well have laughed us out of the room, but worth a crack for a club with ambition, no?

He was still poor .
I don’t thing that is arguable.
No manager is a copper bottomed guarantee against relegation, to be fair.
The next month will be interesting, whether there is enough bounce in our new manager to give us some breathing space, or whether one of the teams below us starts picking up points .
If you are not going to challenge for titles or CL places I suppose annual relegation battles add some interest .
I think there are enough good players and enough structure for Moyes to build on that we will stay up comfortably in the end.

I don’t think a man with Allegri’s record would be interested, to be honest. The lowest he would go is someone like Spurs.

He supposedly admitted he had done everything he could with us and that’s what caused him to go at a time nobody would choose to change manager. That says it all.

Honestly, do you really think Dyche - who took two points deductions on the chin last season and kept going through it with flying colours - would walk away from a team out of the relegation zone with a game in hand?

Dont believe these owners using Kopite hacks to make you think they had no choice but to sack Dyche.

These owners have it all to prove. They've wrecked their relations with fans at one club and that stunt of sacking Dyche and making him carry the can for it and then hiring a washed up manager like Moyes means he's well on the way to sickening another fanbase.

Kept us up twice and out of the relegation zone but 'he wasn't doing it'.

OK.
Honesty the last time am ever gonna reply to you you are a prize blert
You say Dyche was doing it .Doing what
We’re the only team to lose to Southampton
We never had a shot at goal against Bournemouth
Under Dyche the football this season was the most boring av ever seen at goodison
The list goes on and on
you don’t go the match don’t put a penny into Everton bit somehow you a expert on all things On and off the pitch
TIthead

The one thing I don't get about this appointment, if the stories about wanting Potter carried any substance, how do you go from him to Moyes? Everything about the 2 of them seems complete opposites, style of play, personality, so how do you go from one to the other, what type of continuity is there

From somewhere I won't name:

One popular option presented to the new ownership was the former Brighton & Hove Albion and Chelsea manager Graham Potter. Director of football Thelwell was a particular admirer and Potter’s status as a free agent made him potentially attainable before the summer if needed.

Everton spoke to Potter’s camp to gauge his interest in replacing Dyche. He was the favoured candidate of some key figures to get the job if TFG acted quickly in making a change. But when the time came to make a definitive decision, TFG hesitated, seemingly unsure of his suitability for the role. West Ham United were pondering a change too and stole a march as they dismissed Julen Lopetegui and installed Potter.

Sources close to TFG insist Potter was never the No 1 choice and that a formal offer from Everton was never forthcoming.

Wise words from someone called crusty sack.
He knows his stuff mate and has insider knowledge from his brother......
