Visionary manager? You've been on here for weeks saying give Sean Dyche money to build. He's about as visionary as a bat in a cave.
If your pal Sean hadnt been such a disaster we wouldnt have been looking for a manager just after Xmas.
Visionary lol
Yes, to get us to the summer and hire that new manager.

Straw man argument.

It's precisely because we have such a major rebuilding job that you want a new and visionary manager in charge and why you dont want a veteran looking to tread water for the next few years and get his last big pay day.

Moyes is only right (we HOPE) for the next few months.

Those divvy Texans have compounded their mistake of destabilising the club by handing the reins over to a man who's reaching the exit of management.
The divvy Texans who made roma a half decent Serie A. We didn't have billionaires queuing up. I'm not doing cartwheels but he knows the club can stabilise it for 1.5 seasons then we look forward. We Everton we know we have to go back to go forward hopefully this is the last time

Nonsense.

With all that instability in other areas, you want experience to guide them. In two years time there can be a foundation to pass onto your visionary

Steady. He almost relegated us in his first full season first time round.

We need a 21st century manager for our 21st century stadium; but these divvies have lumbered us with an analogue manager.

Not quite true. I think we’ll be further behind in our progress with this appointment come 2027, than we would have been with a younger, more dynamic appointment.

If we assume 15th as our “true” position now, I think an average of 2 league positions per year is a realistic hope for rate of progress in which case we should be bothering Europe in about 4 years time.

There’s always outliers such as Villa, Forest, etc, which should give us hope for a more meteoric rise with a fair wind.

You don't think he could end his contract here with us in 11th?

Genuinely, how many years do you think this club is away from the upper mid/Euro days though? Your unhappiness with this appointment suggests you think it should be by 2027.
Its a good question, it seems to me some peoples expectations dont match up with what they say they believe.

Where DO they think we are now, and where we are supposed to be next season? I was told we needed long-term stability after Moshiri, seeing how bad short-term thinking was. I was told our squad was terrible, and couldnt do anything without extensive recruitment. I was told it would be years before we could compete again, and recent years were so miserable we would love to be midtable for a season. But apparently none of what was said was true...

For this club to have ANY long term sustained success, competing with the best in the league, and in europe, an ACTUAL foundation must be built, because there is none right now. Then, good long-term decisions that are not as good in the short term must be consistently made for years. Thats what I want.

Ha ha.

You're having a laugh.

That club is going through a civil war that'll end with TFG being chased out.

When we sacked Marco Silva in December 2019/we were in the relegation zone and Moyes was tipped to replace him. Chuckling at the response back then;

We've been so battered over the years, we're now a much more forgiving fanbase.

Not had a single text or message in my group chats since he was appointed and it's full of RS fans and fans of other clubs.

Anyone made fun of you yet for it?
Exactly. When Moyes was in charge we got close to them in the table and finished ahead of them a few times. Also beat them more regularly with plenty good draws in there.

Think the laughing is for the times without Moyes.

He will bring back stability and a positive identity. Perfect appointment.

The cryarses need to grow up.
This grow up insult to anyone that doesn’t agree with you is normally used by those who haven’t grown up. 😉
A lot of the basement dwellers as you call them often fail to appreciate context when arguing their point against Moyes's appointment.

They come across as woke lefties, manipulating the facts to suit their narrative. We need stability during what is a pivotal time in our history. Moyes is the safest pair of hands we could have wished for and he will guide us through this transision without fuss. Any other sexy shiny new manager would have been another gamble right now and we are not in a position to gamble.
I am a woke lefty and proud. Are you a fascist righty?

Ok then let’s hire someone straight off his coaching badges because he can visualise three years into the future because he has simulated it on FM 24.

Or you could get a manager who is still relevant today enough so he has won a European trophy with an English club in an age where every trophy domestic and European is won by two or three English teams only

You don't think he could end his contract here with us in 11th?
It’s possible, defo, but my point is, and always has been that even though that would represent good progress, it also means someone else has to come in at that point and build on foundations that aren’t theirs.

I’d have preferred we started with a younger manager now, who hopefully could make similar progress over the next 2.5yrs, and then continue yet further.

Aren’t most managers visionary? I’m sure that having some kind of plan is generally part of the job. Even Wayne surely had some kind of vision for what he wanted at Plymouth.
