Got to have some positive thinking. Negativity is just bad for mental health. He's here now, he's better than Dyche, he'll get more out of these players. Just enjoy the ride.

Load of nonsense, what we post on here has no bearing on what happens on the pitch.

I'd rather speak the truth than pretend that this is good news and positive step forward by the club, it's not.

The options just arent there right now because Dyche messed everything up. If you want to blame anybody blame him, he gave up, he didnt get the results so now TFG are forced to act and play a safe appointment in Moyes.

This. All he had to do was stand still from last season, and he proved incapable of even doing that. Truly one of the worst football managers there is.

We've been paying top 4/6 for manager wages in the league since we gave Moyes a new contract in 2008. Every manager since has used that as a baseline.

The affordability of a top quality manager has never been an issue.

Who’s Moyesy bringing with him?
Is this confirmed?

Remember when that tv interviewer called him
Moyes… he wasn’t happy to say the least!

Nothing safe about Moyes, he completely destroyed Sunderland, he had ex Everton players on massive contracts crippling them all the way down to league one.

Some people have got selective memories on here.

So because of his stint at the deadest Sunderland team he's not safe? Why would you single that out and not the countless high finishes with us and West Ham?

He will do better than Dyche, but that’s an awfully low bar.

Feels like a huge missed opportunity to me, but he gets my support and I hope and pray he is successful, much more successful than his previous glorious 11 years in fact.

Underwhelming and predictable which is not something I was hoping to be saying about this new Everton and our new owners.

Sign some players and get us safe asap Moyes, take the handbrake off a little and be a little braver than you were last time please.
I'd take a string of his famous 1-0 wins right now to be fair! Didn't we usually get better in the Spring months under Moyes first time around too?

What happens now if United bid for Branthwaite and we reject the bid. Then Amorim comes out and says “Everton are holding back the career of Branthwaite by not letting him join United”. Exactly what Moyes said re Fellaini and Baines when he tried to take them to United on the cheap. How would Moyes respond to that?
The same way Everton did then I should imagine.

In some respects hell be a continuation of Dyche, in that he will be pragmatic and I don't expect us to be playing free flowing football.

I do think given funds he'll look to improve the squad and raise quality to the point we will play football. Albeit tempered with pragmatism, particularly in games he craps it in (big six aways, derby games etc).
To be fair, there aren't many managers with great records against the top 6 and in his last season at West Ham, they beat top 6 sides 3 times and got a couple of draws. That doesn't translate to us doing it of course, but West Ham were far better under him than they were when they moved him on - both times.

It seems he's genuinely the "stable rebuild" option, judging by his own statement.

Underwhelmed is an understatement, but IMWT is back on the menu I suppose. Hope he redoes his first hiring at least for the foreseeable, as we will desperately need it, and we move up to midtable again at least ffs
