I reckon he is literally waiting for someone like City / united/ arsenal to try and come in for him. There is literally no other reason he won't have signed the contract, he'll be picking us if the other ones don't come in for him imo.

And if that's the reason he hasn't signed.. do we really want him? Don't get me wrong. I'm not saying we shouldn't sign players just because other clubs aren't interested. But if he is refusing to sign because he hopes someone else will suddenly show an interest in him... he clearly doesn't want to be part of this club. SO would we want to have him as a part of it?

Contract still isn't signed and his agent has told the club that there's other offers on the table despite the player's heart being set on Everton.

I think the biggest reason mate is Everton have tightened up transfer policy considerably. Staff have moved on and with that, the amount of leaks considerably tightened. I don't get a sniff of any news any more - and to be honest, I'm glad. Only good for the Club.

True. If we fans got inside information about sensitive negotiations, you can bet your life that some of our competitors got that information too.

Sven Claes and Kristof Terreur of HLN are said to be the two journos who know the most about Belgium football matters. The last update they gave (about a week ago) had it that Anderlecht were holding up the deal by haggling over add-ons.

FWIW, Claes did a radio interview with a station in Liverpool and said he'd be surprised if Henen turned into a success at Everton. I personally can't read too much into that.

Strangely coinciding with a certain board member's wife cutting back on getting tipsy on a matchday and wandering around the exec boxes looking for conversation...
