Oh got course we did. Sorry that was a bit thick. Is that not historically a bit unusual? I guess it just shows how much bobby trusts the young ones. I also suppose that if you take a young player from another club they will hold out for a longer deal. McAleny only got 3 years I think.

...I think McAleny's contract was up and they didn't want him moving somewhere for nothing - like Gosling. I suspect that in the next season McAleny will either breakthrough or transfer out.

Agent will know he'll be in line for highest earner soon. 4 years means we'll have to renegotiate sooner.

Might be that Barkley's agent only went for a 4 year deal to facilitate either a transfer out if Everton doesn't progress or to be able to negotiate a better contract sooner if he progress as quickly as he does.


It might also just be a favor to the journalists since a 5-year deal would mean that a transfer out next summer would be more expensive and unlikely. With a 4-year deal the journalists can start their transferrumors again next summer.

I'd imagine every race finds it harder to tell people from other races apart, compared to telling their own race apart.

I defy anyone to tell me they don't think there seems to be a less broad range of facial features in Korean/Chinese/Japanese folk compared to European folk.
