Bruce Wayne

Player Valuation: £100m
There was a thread about him over on TW a few months ago and, despite my protestations that he had a cracking international record and showed promise whilst at Man Utd, the general consensus seemed to be that he's a Championship player at best and not worth bothering with.

Now he's the top scorer in the Euro qualifiers with nine goals against some top teams has that opinion changed? After all, he now has 29 goals in 56 internationals, which is a better strike rate than Michael Owen, not to mention all the other expensive no hopers in the England squad. Surely someone with that kind of record could do a job in the PL?

Bruce I totally agree with you mate, he reminds me of a John Aldridge, he knows where the net is. Possibly a bit of a donkey, as Aldridge was, but look at what we've already got (you know who). What would he cost, peanuts, scores goals against some top defences, add him to the pool depending on whether or not we get Nugent(y)

Decent shout im hoping for an all ireland international team like the look of young davies form villa too, but i still think wingers should be our emphasis.

Healy may be able to put the ball in the net but would he really fit into the moyes philospey of defending from the front!

we have options upfront, every striker in means a striker out.

if i was vaughan or anichebe, i wouldnt be too happy if i found myself behind...

beattie
mcfadden
...nugent
...healy

we play cahill in the advanced role that fits him.

Lets can all this striker talk until we see some exits, its pissing in the wind until then.

A striker is only as good as the chances created for him. Now in the Scots games there may have been plenty of chances but also look at his competition, eg McF:lol:

No doubt about his strike record and may have been worth a shout at the right price.

Coming back to Monty's post, I will hold my hand on this. I wish to heavens we had signed Aldridge at the time. I had always liked him as a player and in my book was a very underrated striker.

Hes not a proven goalscorer at league level, plus hes getting on abit now i think lol.

I wouldnt anyways...

He scored again at the weekend and now tops the scoring charts for the Euro qualifiers with 13 goals, taking him to 31 goals for N.Ireland.

Pretty darn impressive and baffling why he can't score in club football to such an extent.

It was against us and we're [Poor language removed] at the moment - nice record though for Healy.

Did you see that Riquelme scored two this weekend for Argi.

Watched the NI game on Saturday, I`ve watched a few of their games and have been impressed with Healey.
Like Faddy hes` full of hard work and running and never gives defenders a moments peace. And like McFadden can score the spectacular goal, his goal on Sat` was a peach and seen him try that a few times before.
As for saying hes` not PL class is utter rubbish, just look at his record in internationals, and look at some of the garbage that start for PL teams now, Voronin, Kuyt:lol: .
For Laffertys goal, did anyone notice the defender who he outjumped to head it in?
