Dave Lee Travis Guilty

It should be noted that he was found not guilty of the other charge, plus the other 12 charges they brought to court on his first trial.

This has cost him his reputation and his home.

Disproportionate or perfectly fair? That's down to individual opnion.

Personally, I find it all a bit tawdry, taking some of these supposed 'incidents' out of the context of the era they happened in, is dangerous.

Is bang on.

Would like to know what it is he's done before saying if it's reasonable for his reputation to be publicly destroyed because of it.

In this instance, anonymity for the accused before the verdict/sentencing makes sense to me.

Apparently groped a tit. Again, not saying its right but in my opinion shouldn't be going to court if its not a child. Especially given the time elapsed. Also very uncomfortable with all these women coming forward and saying that someone slapping their arse or groping their tit has ruined their lives.

I agree with that in all cases.

The trouble with that, according to the CPS, is that other victims dont know someone else has made accusations, so might not have come forward themselves. Its a difficult one though, cos I am sure some "victims" in some of these trials actually wernt at all.

The one he's found guilty of, he squeezed her boob

I agree in a way, but it's still a criminal offence and, as such, has to go somewhere. My issue with these cases is that the burden of proof seems to be so low. I haven't followed this one, but did any other witness see him do it? It seems to me it's one word against another and for some reason the minor celebs continually get done for it.

Not saying he didn't do it, but I'm a fan of the concept of beyond reasonable doubt, rather than "rich celeb, deffo took advantage, let's do him for being famous."

Is right. The courts are under pressure because Saville got away with doing what he did. So now they will take 1 word as proof of wrong doing.

Extremely dangerous precedent.

Apparently the lass said something straight after to a producer and someone else at the studio, and they both confirmed that in court.

But I agree, the burden of proof seems remarkably low at times.

Just reading the article, it seems he's got done because some people remembered her making the allegation at the time. OK, it adds a bit of weight to the claim, but that is in no way beyond reasonable doubt. No DNA, no cameras, no witnesses...

Just doesn't sit right with me.

I don't like the fella he seems a bit arrogant but i think he is paying the price for the people they can't touch yeah it's wrong to grope ladies but good god the cost of this trial for grabbing some birds tit in a era when this kinda stuff was rife is nothing but a show trial to please the media
and for the police to look like they are cleaning up historic cases, if he is sent down for this then the law truly is a ass
