The lad is a good player for us and we are a better team with him in the side so much so that we can't afford to put him on the pitch as the risk of injury is to great . It's a dilema isn't it?

Just seen the highlights. Gibson did fine, it is obvious that he is easing himself back and is not ready to play a full game yet...Martin O Neill said this also.
He showed exactly what he is good at, makes himself available for the ball all the game, lays the ball of well, keeps the midfield ticking over and can play the killer pass as well.
He got booked for a full blooded challenge,it was worth the yellow, but no more.
He is still probably six weeks away from being able to play a full game. You can see why RM has not played him from the start and is now getting him ready to come into the team as a sub and then build up his fitness.

It was good to see him back and nearly fit.
