If that's true that's fantastic. To give Barkley a rest I'd play him in a 4-3-3 with McCarthy and Barry occasionally.

Sadly he can't be relied upon as a nailed on starter even when fit.

Otherwise, for me, he's our best centre mid.

Well, impossible to say as he has barely played for us under Martinez. The great fear is that he won't be the same player as before, which would be a great shame.

However RM has indicated that Gibson is very much a part of his long term plans, which must bode well.
