I don't see how? There are a lot of guys better than Cleverly and Carrick. If you're trying to compete against Barca, Real etc the bar should be higher than "better than Cleverly and Carrick."

He's been excellent for us. As others have said, he's technically proficient and has an unglamorous but crucial role in our setup, which he is very well equipped to play.

And I've no doubt that a fresh start at Everton was probably what he needed.

I think "underrated" is a perfect description.

Sinc we signed him I have said he is a class signing for us ( go back to my posts in here ha ha ).... is he better than United have at the moment ? it's irrelevant really. Gibson suits us, he suits the way we set up and the way we play. United have a far quicker and more technical strikers than we do , there fluidity and interchanging is sometimes mesmerising to watch, not saying ours is slow or direct it's just different to how united play. The fact is though that Gibson suits our style and we suit his...easy as that,, and that is why he plays well for us.

Christ, the amount of long balls he puts on a sixpence. You don't realise how good he is until you see them all one after another. The rest of his game is more than solid too. Quality player.

That you tube vid is superb.. Noticed at 6.27 that it just all seems too easy, so he switches to his left foot for a long pass for seemingly no other reason than he can. Brilliant. Probably been doing it loads throughout the vid but first time I noticed.

Best bit for me in that clip though wasn't even Gibson.. 4mins 14s. How the hell Baines keeps that ball in i'll never know.

I remember Fox texting me that he's defo a player after his first game and I wasn't so sure.

He's settling in well though. Can't believe how much I rate him in just under a year.

He should only get better too.
