Not a rumour.

Just read that Man Utd have put Danny Wellbeck on the transferlist. Always thought he was meant to be one of their top talents. Anyone on here knows more about him and more to the point, would he be worth a gamble for Everton?

Id be surprised if he was on the transfer list i thought Fergie rated him highly.

That was what I was thinking. Never seen much of him, but always thought he was a special talent at United. So I was surprised to read he had been put up for sale by SAF.

That said mate, i rated Campbell too and he looks like he will be sold to, Darren Gibson is out of contract (thats the young lad who scored that last day screamer for Utd) ive seen him for the national team, he has ability we could do worse then take him on and work with him.

Agreed. I always heard that SAF rated him highly (I just never saw why when he was on the pitch).

He seems to have pace but I have seen him waste many many scoring chances (I love the comment about him making Babel look like Kaka).

Maybe he is great in practice and just hasn't put that on display in a game yet. If he ever can do that, he could be special. I think he needs a loan spell to get him some gametime and confidence.

I don't think he is an answer for us though.

I remember Jean Pierre Papin playing some of his first games for France at the 86 (I think) world cup. He looked like a Gallic Stuart Barlow, but a couple of years later was one of the best finishers on the planet.
Then again, Stuart Barlow continued being err, Stuart Barlow.

Gone are the days when Ferguson brought through young players to actually play for the club. It seems now they are brought through to raise funds to buy expensive foreign players instead.

Probably because there standards are so high. Only massive talents have a chance of making it there. We'd be the same if we where in there position.

And to be fair Scholes, Giggs, Neville, Brown, Fletcher, O'Shea etc all came through.
