Danny Murphy the Commentator

I'm just watching England vs. Panama and listening to complete and utter drivel from Danny Murphy, and not for the first time.
Am I being hyper-critical of him just because of his connection with the rs or is he really that bad as a commentator?
I must add that he's equally as bad as a pundit in my opinion.
In my defence, I couldn't stand Alan Shearer as a player but he talks more sense than most other pundits for me.
He is that bad whilst trying to sound a bit of a tough bloke. To be honest though they are all terrible.

On sky sports tonight on The Debate.
Made a joke of Hearts replacing their manager with Mourinho..

This 'joke' whilst Craig Levin is still in hospital after suffering a heart scare.

How this utter baffoon is still paid to talk about football is staggering.

This droning clown is now being paid by Sky as well as the BBC, we're trapped.
Would rather listen to Garth Crooks these days that's how bad Murphy really is, in what worldly shape or form do the powers that be really think he is worth listening to.

He's on Talk Sport as well. It's quite funny when you hear him on with someone else who actually knows about football. After Murphy speaks there's that short pause when you're embarrassed for the person who's just spoken, and then they just ignore what he's said.

Not having that mate. As much of a biased, ill informed tool Murphy is, he'll never be fit to lace the boots of the all time 'king of tools' Garth Crooks. That fella is on another level, the self important spanner.

Had a bit of a pop at Neil Lennon last night by all accounts , who to back in that argument would definitely be a tough decision for me . Despite the fact I cannot stand Murphy I did find myself smiling when I watched the clip -

The pair, plus journalist Oliver Holt, were discussing the upcoming clash between Celtic and Rangers on Sunday and how the pressure of the fixture can get the better of players and managers.

Murphy initially provoked a laugh from former Celtic captain and boss Lennon by joking the derby has produced "a few lunatics" down the years.

He then chanced his arm by going one step further

He told Lennon: "I do believe this, and this isn't a criticism of you... well, it is.

"If a manager continually behaves like an idiot on the sidelines, picking fights..."

He was then swiftly interrupted by Lennon.

"Whoa, whoa, whoa, whoa," said the Northern Irishman, seemingly try to stop Murphy in his tracks.

That prompted a u-turn from the ex-England international.

"I wasn't talking about you!", he protested, despite asserting moments earlier that it was a criticism of Lennon.

Murphy continued: "I think it allows the players to behave badly, there's a way you have to conduct yourself.
