This guy had an outstanding couple of years pulling the strings of Getafe's midfield and earned a 6 million euro transfer to Valencia where things have not gone to plan, i.e. he's made no starts and only 2 appearances this season. For me, we absolutely are desperate for a player who can hold the ball and retain possession for us in midfield areas as that seems to of evaporated from our game since Arteta left us. I really rate this lad and maybe it's possible to strike up a loan deal in january if he's still not getting regular playing time. I know Moyes will be interested and will of had him watched whilst he was at Getafe as I know he was at a few Getafe home games last season(watcing spanish football coverage on sky last year), would not surprised to see this lad in Everton blue come January.

no, you're right, but he's improved massively since then. Very Arteta like, i.e. not a stepover merchant like Fernandes but a cultured passer and a guy who does not lose the ball easily.

I remember watching this lad when he was at Getafe a few times on Sky. He stood out as a young up and comer. Forgot about him completely till this thread though. In fact I didn't even know he'd left Getafe.

The comparisons with Arteta are fair, but he put a shift in when I watched him which is what impressed me - charged about into space and demanded the ball.
