EVERTON FANS: ‘WE WILL BREAK WAYNE ROONEY’

EVERTON fans vowed to make Robin van Persie’s Manchester United debut a baptism of fire by targeting their own “traitor†– his strike partner Wayne Rooney.

Many are still furious with the 26-year-old Scouser’s decision to quit Everton for United in 2004.

More than 16,000 Facebook users joined a group called “I Hate Wayne Rooneyâ€.

And in fans’ forums, supporters revealed plans to use Monday night’s Premier League season opener between the two clubs to blitz the England star with taunts.

One declared on Everton’s official forum: “For f***’s sake, why can’t we just nuke Manchester?â€

Another Rooney hater posted on Facebook they would love to see someone “snap his legâ€.

Van Persie is currently facing similar abuse from angry Arsenal fans following his transfer to United.

Sources said police and security staff were preparing for a “feisty atmosphere†at Monday’s match.

Talk about sensationalist bull****.

That Facebook page was started in April 2010. They make it sound like it started last week.

Nobody even chanted anything at Rooney last season, all that nonsense has died down.

****ing hell. Absolute idiots. We should all fume over this.

ha it made me laugh at how moronic it is. i honestly think tomorrow there will be a story about how someone wrote a comment on a youtube vid of rooney. this is the most idiotic thing i've ever read, therefore i cannot fume. everything will be fine, im not even arsed over him anymore. also van persie's not a traitor, arsenal haven't won anything for a while and aren't realistic contenders in europe or the title, plus he's 29

Why are you drawing more attention to it?

Do you not realise this is the EXACT reaction they'd have been hoping for?

What a pile of utter tosh, yeah I used to boo the lad and clearly a few will, rightly, never forgive or forget, but I think the majority are well over this.

Honestly, they should be charged with something.

That Facebook page has been 'liked' by fans from all over the country too. I'm sure there are some Everton fans on there, but there are loads of City and Arsenal fans, amongst others.

Written by some gutless journo who's not significant enough to even have their name printed on the article.
