Every week we have our own column in the Daily Mirror’s Saturday Mania section giving us the chance to voice the fans’ consensus on the day’s hot potatoes and highlight issues which could otherwise slip by.

We’re not sure how many of you out there are regular Mirror readers so we’ve decided to reproduce the occasional piece on site for FSF members. We would post up every week’s column but it’s such a popular selling point for the Mirror we fear their sales may collapse if people know they can read our incoherent ramblings on our site for free. Or it could be because we’re normally in a post-weekend haze for most of Monday and might forget.

The FSF Fans’ Forum column from Saturday’s Daily Mirror Mania:

Here at FSF Towers we’ve been bombarded with messages from outraged Everton supporters about the incident between Blackburn Rovers player El-Hadji Diouf and an Everton ball-boy at the recent Everton-Rovers game at Goodison Park.

Diouf is alleged to have told the ball boy to, “[Poor language removed] off, white boy!” in the first half of the game when Diouf apparently didn’t approve of the way the ball was returned to him by the thirteen year old ball-boy. Diouf has since alleged that it was he who was the victim of racist abuse, saying that he was pelted with bananas at the Gwladys Street end.

El-Hadji Diouf has never been the most sympathetic and engaging of characters. To say he has a short fuse would be an under-statement. He seems capable of blowing up at the most trivial perceived slight. The fact that he’s on his seventh club in eleven years says it all really.

Don’t get us wrong. We’re one hundred percent against any form of racism. If Diouf’s allegations have any truth to them they should result in punishment for those responsible.

Equally if the allegations that Diouf racially insulted a thirteen year old boy prove to be true then the FA should drop on him like a ton of bricks. Likewise if his allegations of banana throwing prove to be false.

I wasnt at the game but saw bits on TV. I am sure that if there were banana's thrown at him then the camera would have picked it up.

All I can say about him is that he is a tw@t

There wasnt anything thrown at him in that match. He's a scumbag and should be dealt with by the FA. The ballboy did nothing wrong either. The whopper wasnt happy simple as but then he never looks happy. Ungrateful [Poor language removed] should be fined and banned for lying.

No bananas where thrown at him, only a meat pie and a hotdog.

Having seen the incident again though, I very much doubt he called the ball boy a 'white boy'.

I wonder how the ball boy and his family are getting on with their nice compensation claim they were gonna put in.

Must of missed that in the news.

What gets me about this whole shitty mess , is the absence of any kind of authority . E.G. Richard Scudamore , even Gordon Taylor , to come out and address this .
THE ISSUE HERE is that a prominent , though volatile Premier League player , has come out and accused a ball-boy of racism , utterly unfoundedly . IF this had been proven then a whole world of [Poor language removed] would've come down upon this club from a great height- as any blues pre-80's could testify . We currently have a black captain , remember ???
However , this snake is wanting , as ever , to slide out of the whole thing and the Football Executive , media included , are , basically having it . It's a fukn disgrace and no mistake . To the extent that someone should petition the club on this and GUARANTEE that something - ie , this dog apologizes , preferably live on T.V. to both the kid , this club and it's fans .
Alas , this won't happen and it'll get swept away till the next racism issue , when someone will say , .. Weird . 'Member that Diouf thing ??? , ..."

Both it , and he are of the gutter , though once more it is our rep' which ends up there .

Exactly . The supporters should make sure this gets dealt with . The lying tw*t should held to account . No way should he get away with this one .

The thing I found annoying about this is Diouf antagonises the crowd with his actions, knowing he will get a reaction.
On numerous occasions and the one in particular with the ball boy he went to take the throw in but never actually took it,but goes near the crowd because he knows what's going to happen.
Later in the same half, but on the other side of the Gwladys St,he went to take a corner, got the usual reaction from the crowd and then left it for another player.
1 horrible person

Indeed, some might see parallels with other examples of players inciting the crowd.

Sorry , Dennis , but this is without parallel . This beaut not only incited , but then " played the race card " to get out of it . He made his mistake with the bananas and hopefully it's what will ultimately hang him . It was beyond any precedent , with Cantona perhaps the closest .
I'm up for petitioning . No shabs .

Totally different cultural mentallity, and one he needs to leave behind before joining the Prem.
I don't think he's as bad as folks make out, but he's had his fair share of incidents, which seemed to have started with the spitting episode.
