I disagree with 'pedantic' you said year, not season. Again with the mind reading. ('obvious')
As for the season we signed two players and they both the season, do you count Jo as a player signed for the season? If so, is all you need to be happy with is the signing of one more first team player?

I was happy with the signing off him yeah, didn't make up for a diabolical summer though no.

That might have been the case, but if you had read what I've been saying for the last half an hour, other clubs have strengthened, and we haven't strengthened enough. Comprende?

So much for not replying.
What other clubs have strengthened?
To what degree would Everton have to strengthen to appease you, a fan?
As for the summer, I had no idea it was over (in window terms not weather) so is it now officially over?

The clubs that have strengthened are pretty obvious.

City
Spurs (just signed Bassong as well. Good signing).
Sunderland (signed well, and could be a surprise in my opinion)

Villa haven't strengthened, but again, wouldn't rule them out.

A good summer, in my opinion, would be a right back and a right winger, cover for left mid, and a centre mid.

Realistically a good summer for me, or what I can only hope for now seems half of it has already gone, is a right mid and cover for centre half OR a right back.

Ain't happening though. Neither of them.

So realistically, because fifty percent of the window has passed, that is it, game over, do not pass go, do not collect two hundred pounds?
I struggle to name players Moyes has signed on the opening day of the window. I can name Fellaini and Ferrari as players he has signed at the end of the window though.
What amount of margin do you cut Moyes for signing players from other leagues who start and finish at different times to the prem? (and hence have some holiday time/family time) what margin do you allow for vindictive actions like that of Bates because of Garbutt hence the murky business around Delph?

Me personally I consider a good summer once where Moyes is still in charge and prepared to fight the campaign with the squad he is responsible for. I do not for one moment believe he is stupid enough to throw his hard fought reputation away to validate the opinion of crackpot disillusionists who consider him a Kenwrong pawn hell bent on taking Everton FC into the lower leagues.

Moyes signed a five year deal last summer, after fighting his corner to get what he needed to remain as boss at our beautiful club. So we are not Man City, you have dealt with arrogant Liverpool fans for how many years? and sneering Man Utd fans for even longer? Who and What are City?

Time to reevaluate what being an Evertonian is maybe?

That's not what I've said at all. But realistically, we all know Everton can't do deals quick and with minimal fuss. I don't see how we are going to get all the players we need in the time left. What's stopping Moyes doing deals early, giving them at least half a pre season? Nothing, the simple fact is we have to dither over transfers. It's the Everton way.

I don't rate Fellaini, that's why if we brought another big signing like him, I don't want it to be on the last day, or even a week before the end. For the simple fact people will use the line "Wait will next year when he's had a full Moyesy pre season". I'm fed up of that. Got boring the 10th time people said it about Fellaini. Why couldn't we sign Fellaini early on? No reason, we just dithered over it all.

About what you consider a good pre season, your very easily pleased. We've done that the last what? 3 years? And we are at a dead end as to where that can take us. Yeah, we got to the Final of the FA cup, but in the League, we need something else to take us from "Meh, I'm happy with 5th again", to "You know what, we can really challenge the top 4 with this squad". Last minute deals don't help that cause to be honest, as they then use the time they could be using at the beginning of the pre season to blend with our style of play, get to know the team, and in some cases learn the language we use on the pitch.

But if your happy getting to the 29th of August without signing a player good enough for our first team, with the attitude of "don't worry, we could sign a superstar tonight", then we wont progress to be honest.

Everton cannot do deals quickly? Moyes signed his contract then signed Fellaini pretty quickly last summer. What stopped Moyes getting a player he admitted he had followed for some years earlier? erm, the CL qualifiers. Everton way or other clubs ambition???

Yeah, dont rate him all the way to not celebrating his important goals for us? So what Fellaini has not been the success you wanted, Moyes wants him, and he out ranks you. Fellaini needed and still needs to learn the language. Fellaini did not sign earlier as has been previously stated with fact to back it up because standard liege were in the CL playoffs and were not selling then. Sorry if that doesnt fit your view.

A preseason with no injuries and injured players coming back. I consider last summers window the most successful summer of recent times, Moyes signed up for five more years. I could not give a toss about any player signing before Moyes had. If yopu think wrangling at managerial level does not affect players then maybe we should be negotiating with our manager like Villa were initially with O'neill.

So long as Moyes is manager, I do not see him signing up for no money, and no signings this summer (or any summer). To think that of the man is to disrespect everything he is and everything he has fought for. [/QUOTE]

Moyes is no mug, there are still weeks of the transfer window to play out. Lets see what plays out before judging and sentencing.

He signed him on the last day though..

Kyle Naughton, Senderos this summer, for one reason or another, are taking/took for ever to come to a conclusion. Say to Arsenal "listen, £3million or jog on".

Getting your manager to sign is one thing, why you think that means we can't sign players as well is beyond me.

This is a random sentence so I can submit the post.
