Eurosport commentary team agrees with you; they will take today as sapping UAE and then attack in the next couple of days.

Going to be a good weekend of racing.
Aye, two mountain stages over the weekend, and you have to assume that the UAE team aren't going to be up to much after working so hard today. Any time they can gain today would be a bonus. Of course, Pogacar is so good he could he even send a big FU to the rest by riding away on the final climb himself.

Carlton Kirby really is an enormous knob. How are you watching the race @Bohemian Toffee ? Is it being shown in CZ or are you VPNing it?
It's shown on two channels here, Eurosport and Czech TV's sport channel, both use the same feed for the images Eurosport have a much larger variety of contributors but the commentary team is one of the worst in all of sports. Sean Kelly is incomprehensible for me and you'll get no argument out of me with Kirby.

Czech TV's coverage is pretty decent, but it lacks the Alpecin Fenix boys threatening advert about saving their hair.

I like the NBC coverage, but I can't always find it.

I was going to suggest Krueziger or someone might be the obligatory former pro on a motorbike, but he's still riding. Feels like he's been around for donkey's years.

Breathtaking, it’s one of the reasons I enjoy watching the Tour.
That was the passo Gardena in the Dolomites (Italy), but it's used often in the Giro and is one of the climbs on the upcoming Maratona event for us amateurs. Yours truly on the event busting his butt keeping up with Wiggins as he was on gentle pootle.

Cav looks serious about keeping that green jersey.
the only proper sprinter to get in the early break and picked up a max 20 points at the intermediate.
I expect the time limits in the big mountains are going to be his main adversey.

Epic stage racing today - great stuff. vdP immense but looked in pieces at the end - that'll be it for the yellow jersey given what's in store over the weekend.

I wonder whether he has the GC as a longer term goal down the line - On the one hand if Bradley Wiggins can win a GT then you'd think the best cyclist in the world can also make the adaptation. But Wiggins had that iron TT endurance and just multiplied it whilst getting thin (plus some other major team and parcours advantages), might be that vdP won't have the physiology for it.
