Ineos' strategy gone out the window on day 1. Porte lost two and a half minutes. TGH several minutes. The only other notable casualty among those who might reasonably be a contender was Miguel Angel Lopez who also lost nearly 2 minutes.
For Jumbo though, Kuss, Martin and Teunnison all lost about 15 minutes, and Hirschi for UAE lost big time too. The time won't matter much but them being battered perhaps will.

Massive from Alaphilippe hitting that from 2K out - classic you're all [Poor language removed] slow and I'm the Boss moment.

Sad to see the carnage - be some banged up bodies after that.

vdP yesterday - Lord have mercy, the panache is too much. Ride the entire pro peloton off your wheel up the Mur de Bretagne, twice, to claim the yellow jersey and honour the Name of your grandfather.

Reckon he'll ride into the mountains and then prob retire from the race - he's been targeting the Tokyo MTB event for years and has said it's the hardest discipline for him to win at (in terms of prep and adaptation to the bike).

After all the crashes that have been happening already, I’m glad to see Nairo and other Colombian riders doing well at the moment at the Tour. Quintana set the expectations low but hopefully he will do much better than expected
