Inappropriate Behaviour

all from wiping his nose.

at least it will keep him out of the doping spotlight for 12 months

I know ignorance is kinda your thing, but really this is too much. Time trial riders race with disk wheels, which can make handling difficult in cross winds, which have been prevalent across Europe in the past week. He was caught by wind, which forced him to lose control and hit a wall at over 30mph. When the sport has suffered tragedies ranging from Wouter Weylandt to Fabio Cassartelli from hitting concrete at high speed, a bit of sensitivity would not go amiss.

Starting to sound like this is career ending - with him being 34 and the hip as well as the femur (which sounds horrific - Brailsford talking about the wound being so bad that the operation was rushed through). Difficult to see him back to his best either way, but I expect that it the least of his concerns at the moment.

Must be hard to say either way at this stage, but it does sound like it was a horrible crash. He can perhaps take comfort from the continued performance of Valverde, who also had a bad break after a time trial crash yet came back to win the Worlds. Whatever happens with Froome's cycling career, hopefully he just makes a full recovery.
