Cycling thread

Omloop was good yesterday, always great to see riders back on it for Classics season. Ended in a bunch sprint but overall race had a story to tell - also some comedy aero domes on display. Winner was a lesser known Norwegian sprinter (and big unit - over 90kg) Soren Waerenskjold beating out Magnier and Philipsen on the line.
van Aert put in some work but didn't seem interested in animating the race - early season legs and no winner of Omloop has won Flanders in the same year.

KBK today with a lot of the same riders doubling up. Going to give it a miss myself and do a couple of easy hours on the Cheshire bridleways, getting over a cold.

TV rights etc - will there be free highlights packages on the grand tours on anywhere like Quest, ITV, Ch4 etc?

Tbh, I've never really watched live stages and usually just get a 1 hour fix of cycling during the summer and maybe a couple of spring classics.

itv4 has the tour de France for this last year, then euro sport take over from 2026. itv lost the French open tennis a couple of years back (which sucked!) so this appears the direction of travel. I think Quest has the tour Espana.

Never know, the 30 minute channel 4 daily highlight show might make a comeback?

<< since when are youtube denying fair use?
"Tour de France 1987 Channel 4 UK"

breathy! then the Hawaiian guitars at about 55 seconds. Pete Shelley of Buzzcocks fame.
