Him and Kristoff have set themselves apart in the classics. Impressive stuff. Sky have a bunch of guys that look like they could get there in Stannard, Rowe and Thomas, but none have really quite managed it in a big classic yet.

Race has been a real crash fest thus far this season. Some idiot cycling into the group on stage 2, then the horrible crash by Pozzo, and then another horror today. Obviously Contador will take all of the headlines, but Jesus the poor guy from Vini. Horrible, horrible injury :(

I think Contador looked so weak yesterday. I can't see how he will live with a peak Froome in July, if a crash or illness doesn't take Froome out.

Don't think he was helped by the fact that he was left totally isolated by his team with 60 km still to race. When the attack came he had no-one to support him. That should be his biggest concern.

Yeah his team have been so weak but he should have a strong Majka at the Tour. I do think though, if he had the legs he would have went with Landa when he attacked. He couldn't even follow Aru, Hejsedal and Kruijswijk. I felt if he was going to do the double, he needed to be coming out of Giro stronger and I am not convinced he is.

Was a bit of a procession though in the end. After the time trial there was never any real risk of him losing it. Maybe he was simply riding within himself? It's a shame that he wasn't pushed a bit more, and it made for a flat Giro in that sense.

Froome looks good but looked better at last years Dauphine, but maybe that's a good thing for him so he will peak in third week of TDF.

It could be a classic Tour this year.

He did look better. Nibali I don't trust one bit. Rubbish one day, superman the next, then back to being rubbish again. Even if he wasn't riding for Astana that kind of swing in form would be fishy. Not sure he's the kind of rider to take the micky and not try, especially as he had yellow, so it doesn't really add up.

Its a shame that Nibali seems to have became a July only rider the last few years, taking the Armstrong approach.

Yes, he used to be someone you could count on to try and animate the classics a bit. Valverde is really the only one left that does that, although I'm not sure he's a very desirable trophy boy for it either.

It sounds from his press conference that Nibali gave up the jersey today. He was saying he's not fussed by the Dauphine at all. Not sure whether it's mind games or what.
