Because Ronald Koeman did not have a clue about anything.

Koeman went on record saying we needed left back cover for Baines. As well as a striker, and a left sided centre back. None of those came in, and we still haven't addressed the defensive issues, so that should hint that it wasn't Koeman picking all the players. walsh has played a massive part in the bizare tfr approach leaving us with a disjointed squad.

martina is never a footballer, I'm amazed he's made a living out of it.

When Sandro burst onto the scene in Italy he was known as 'the new Maldini'.
Istill say there was a good player there, just ravaged by injuries, and the fact that although Kilbane was a good guy, he just did not understand the concept of the overlapping full back. Pistone was very high in the OPTA passing stats, but a lot of his passes were sideways because Kilbane was asleep, or no one else was moving into space.

I know mate, despite my jibe I was actually a fan of Pistone, think he was given an unfair tag as heartless by some of both Newcastle and our supporters.

He played on the right for a while. I seem to remember a nasty injury that turned out to be not so bad.

Then he turned up on the left when, presumably, Baines got injured. I'm just trying to make sense of it all.
