Cuco Martina

Can't say I know much about this lad at all, although I do admit that @ijjysmith's portrayal is a bit of a concern.

Still Koeman obviously desires strength in depth and as he knows the player, in addition to the fact it isn't going to break the bank, I'm content.

Just an addition to the squad who is cheap. He clearly thinks highly of Holgate and I still think he will be preferred over Martina when Coleman not available. We do need depth

If it's for buttons, fine by me. I think he joined Southampton for around £1m didn't he? Given he's seen as a failure there, I'd expect a similar fee, or no more than £2-3m.

For that money, not bothered in the slightest by it.

Reasonable Saints mate confirms he's a bit poop.

But he would say that now I guess.

Just said in the transfer thread that whenever I saw him he did OK. Nothing special, but given it was his first season in the Prem he didn't make too many howlers either.

As I said, not exactly a grand statement but if Koeman wants out and out right-back cover then this lad ticks the boxes.

This guy is not great and I would be concerned if he potentially blocks Holgate or Kenny from the 1st team squad.
I guess we just have to trust the manager as he knows 1st hand what each man brings to the squad.

I thought if we did raid Southampton it would be for one of their better players though.

He has played 15 games over here and people think they can judge how good/bad he is.

If Koeman has had him at previous clubs then I would trust him to know what he is capable of.

Nah mate....I prefer to go on the judgement of some melodramatic schitzoids, who think because he isn't valued at 30m plus he must be shoite.

Bit worrying that we don't have a right back able to step up. These young lads Pennington, Kenny and Connolly must not be up to
