Is it true the rumours it was a riot outside the ground and a few Lyon fans are in hospital??

Two were in the hospital. They returned to Lyon today. One just got beaten a bit, the other one apparently got stabbed in the neck (an injury that could have had serious consequences).

‘Kin great.

Now when we get to Lyon we will most likely have an angry mob wanting to have a go at us

Talk about Chinese whispers, a riot ffs???

A few of their lads went looking for trouble & got it, it wasn’t a riot & the report on that French site is laughable.

Tbf l'Equipe is generally a reliable newspaper. Why would they lie about people being hospitalized - for 1 day? And also:

"La soirée des supporters lyonnais au stade de Goodison Park à l'occasion du match de Ligue Europa Everton - OL jeudi soir s'est globalement bien passée" - same article

Thimg is over recent years we have had some real poor behaviour, morons throwing flares, kids running on the pitch, and this season we have been nothing short of a disgrace, but I'm not hearing enough being made public about what happening to these idiots?
Was the guy in gray who went on the pitch vs split banned? The lad who ran on the pitch when Niasse scored? The bottle throwers in the last 2 games? We need to be punishing all these and making an issue out of doing so, or it's just going to get worse

Absolutely. We are way too lacks when it comes to hooliganism.

They’ve copied the site which claimed they were “attacked” so in this case no it’s not a reliable paper at all.

You’ve just put words in my mouth regarding them lying about people going to hospital though which is a bit random.

Their lads wanted trouble, went looking for trouble at the two pubs they’d get it & ended up coming off worse.

We aren’t talking about normal fans getting ambushed here.

spot on . They got what they came for but it didn’t go according to plan for them . What do they expect to happen when they attack a pub full of people ? You can’t blame Everton because lyon’s lads aren’t as hard as they thought they were .

I was in the pub tonight where two RS supporters were fuming over our supporter who pushed or hit the keeper. Both were old enough to remember Heysel and Hillsborough, yet neither could see the absolute irony of their words. This has been allowed to be blown up out of all proportion and is quite disgraceful. The lad was wrong and should be punished, but the ott comments and media coverage is unbelieveable. I cba’d making a list of players, refs and supporters shot or killed around the world, but a man holding a child and punching or pushing a player is apparently the new devil incarnate.......
