It was disgraceful behaviour by English fans in Europe. The only punishment I can see as fitting would be to ban all English teams from Europe for, lets say, 5 years.

This is the issue imo. Playing garbage, fans angry and then Williams goes and starts a mass brawl.
We have had some wonderful captains down the years here.
Ashley brought nothing but disgrace to the armband yesterday with those antics. He was so lucky to stay on the pitch.

I think he’s been poor pretty much since he got here but I think he did ok last night and at least looked like he was interested in the result . If we’re going to have a go at players klassen (obviously) , holgate and Tom Davies deserve significantly more criticism than Williams.

If we’d gone on to win the game , which after the equaliser you say we looked in the ascendency, people would probably be talking of it like the tackle on Ronaldo. This is club that still worship Ferguson and many got on their feet to clap him off him for those frequent dismissals and it absolutely geed up a completely flat goodison . As I say Williams has been poor for a good while but picking him out after last night because of what went on doesn’t feel right for me .
