In the heat of the moment people make silly decisions. He was stupid to get involved but he didn't throw a punch he pushed the players head. Same people over reacting are probably the same that like the "snarly atmosphere" of Goodison. Right now it is hard and frustrating, Williams showed his frustration and so did that fan. He put his kid in a bit of danger and will be embarrassed this morning but he didn't dangle his kid out of a hotel window ffs.

Am I seriously reading anyone making a comment that's defending the guy holding the child?!? It's ok because the players fell about pushing and shoving each other near the crowd? The guy is desperately reaching across trying to get involved. Ban him from Goodison, absolutely.
I don't have a problem with people defending the players actions in the incident - they are under immense pressure, whether that's down to their own doing or not, but they have to remain professional and keep a tight lid on all their emotions. The fans can (and do) shout off as much as they want and let out their frustrations, but players simply cannot do this. It's bound to boil over occasionally. Absolutely no excuse for "fans" actions such as this guy.
Utterly ashamed for anyone to know I'm an Everton fan today.

Behave. How many have actually defended his actions? He was a disgraceful example to the kid and especially as he took the young lad near to the melee, where there were grown men getting aggressive. Don't think barely anyone has said otherwise?

But as some have already mentioned, I've found the overreaction a bit pathetic too. I've watched it back numerous times. He shoves the keeper initially and then swings a slap/push forward. There was no punch thrown.

And i'm actually surprised there wasn't any more fan involvement to be honest. Not saying it would have been right if anyone else would have attacked any of their players, but it was the so called professionals who allowed that situation to get out of control in front of the supporters. Not that i'm too bothered about the scuffles from the players either, it's a contact sport and was a tense game for our players as they're under a lot of pressure.

Some people need to get a grip.

It was a scuffle that happens every week in a Sunday League, the players got too close to the hoardings & crowd, nobody was hurt, a guy stroked a Lyon players head & a Dad with a kid gave it the big ‘un but came out of it looking a bit of a t1t.

Ashley Williams was the catalyst in all of this with an absolutely ridiculous push on the keeper.

I don't think Williams can face any further action though as the ref booked him
