The England middle order didn't perform well enough all series so there are decisions to make. When Brook is available he has to play, even if that means leaving out Bairstow. I dont think this top 6 is the best 6 batters available.

But it doesn't really matter who plays if they don't want to bat time. Being aggressive is fine but batting only 50 or 60 overs an innings is not going to win test matches and is going to leave the bowlers constantly shattered.

The balance of the team also needs to find an all rounder if Stokes ability to bowl continues to be limited.

We’ve had Liam Dawson sat at home all
Winter. Madness. I know he’s 34 and they probably wanted to bleed some
Youth in but he got 3 centuries and 40+ wickets last season.
 

Hopefully, more opportunities for Tom Hartley.



The season starts next Friday, Lancashire playing Surrey at Old Trafford, let's hope the bloody weather improves !
