What a surprise. Yet another thread becomes an 'I hate Martinez' tirade.
Just lucky our new shareholder doesn't read any of this or he'll believe he's come to a club with very limited imagination.
I think it would be good to see a lot more young players coming through who are confident on the ball and the players around them. It's been depressing in the past to see people wearing the blue shirt who just wanted shut of it as soon as possible.
Be great if the backbone of the side had grown up playing together and felt a connection to the club.
Of course everyone is entitled to their opinion but if I asked you about fish and you talked to me about meat then it's an indication of obsession.I don't hate RM, he seems like a genuinely nice chap. I dislike his style of management tho. That's my opinion and I'm entitled to it. I think if Mosh reads the forums he will understand that he has bought a club with a passionate fan base, who speak their minds and want the best for their club. Why does not wanting our current captain to be at the helm a lack of imagination? Surely just following the crowd and just accepting the lack of managerial nous is an indication of 'very limited imagination'? A person who can 'imagine' a scenario that is different from the current one shows pure imagination?
What is it you all fear? This goes so much deeper than a football manager clearly
Not suggesting it's kneejerk at all. But I think there's people with passionate views on both side. Then, and it's just a feeling, I think there are a handful of fans to who it's become about something else. Can't say what I think that is without it getting personal. But if a fan asks a question and it's not related and there's a few who try to railroad it to 'discuss' the manager then in my opinion they are identifying themselves as being in the latter category and clearly this is not just about the future of the blues. Just my opinion though...don't think it does though does it mate, not really. I've certainly not known a manager divide opinion so much for YEARS. And by the very definition of that alone, well, it's suggestive of it not being a simple bout of fickleness & (BIG yawn) kneejerk-ism isn't it...
But if you want an answer on as to what it is people fear - as patronizing a question as it was - then see VILLA/WIGAN et al. Then consider that we're now on a par with STOKE/SOUTHAMPTON etc. Then consider that - despite 'investment' - there are players making noises to 'off', namely the big boy with the goals...then consider that however far RM is into his 'rebuild' it'll have to - in likelihood - backtrack now anyway to attempt replace/re-find 20 odd goals per season from somewhere...
People are right to be concerned mate. It's a manager with a record of being unwilling to change and adapt, there's no denying that is there...
That said, if he does address 'stuff' - and in answer to the original point/posed question - I'd love a side with the heady blend of the attacking flair that he instilled yet, sadly, is all too often lacking...I'd like that married to a well-drilled, not overly fancy defensive unit that does what it's supposed to do and doesn't piss about. If he can do that then I'm more than willing to eat a BIG slice of H-Pie...
Personally, can't see it like...
Ho-Hum.
Best just go out and win a cup then eh....Yissssssssssssss.

And I totally agree with everything you've said about the club. If winning with style becomes a regular thing then I won't care how many times I'm wrong along the way....don't think it does though does it mate, not really. Imagination requires you to think about broader things without repeating a simplistic mantra.
Whether you want the manager here at the moment or not do you think that limits your thinking to that?
Being an Evertonian yourself...if you were Farhad Moshiri looking at our squad now with the hopes of not only reaching the top 4 consistently but also being known across Europe what:
A -- Players do we have now in the squad who over the next few years could be at the very top level ?
B -- Style of play would you like us to emulate using an example of another teams style or one from our own past?
C-- Would you want our club to be known for? For example, would you want us to be known for having clean sheets, lots of attacking football, being a young side or a certain style of play...?
For me:
A:
Funes-Mori (Needs more consistency)
Stones (Better defensive nous)
McCarthy (same role as Butt for Utd)
Besic (Get past the injuries)
Barkley (Become more arrogant in his play)
Deulofeu (improve defensively+fitness)
Lukaku (Improve 'off the ball')
Not reading all that .
Let me guess.
A- Sell everyone over the age of 25
B- Sign lots of Under 20's
C- Prented that you are playing Football Manager
Can't see the connection but I accept you don't lack intelligenceNot necessarily. Many of us here are not au fait with business management or current marketing structures. That does not mean we have a limited imagination or are indeed obsessive. It means we are limited by our education. That doesn't mean we lack intelligence either by the way.
