Player Valuation: £100m
Being an Evertonian yourself...if you were Farhad Moshiri looking at our squad now with the hopes of not only reaching the top 4 consistently but also being known across Europe what:

A -- Players do we have now in the squad who over the next few years could be at the very top level ?

B -- Style of play would you like us to emulate using an example of another teams style or one from our own past?

C-- Would you want our club to be known for? For example, would you want us to be known for having clean sheets, lots of attacking football, being a young side or a certain style of play...?

For me:
A:

Funes-Mori (Needs more consistency)
Stones (Better defensive nous)
McCarthy (same role as Butt for Utd)
Besic (Get past the injuries)
Barkley (Become more arrogant in his play)
Deulofeu (improve defensively+fitness)
Lukaku (Improve 'off the ball')

B:

I'd like to see us play with a very quick counter attacking system which is lethal on the break. Looking back to the Man Utd team under Ferguson who had rapid wingers and broke amazingly quickly so even last minute goals were a surprise anymore.

We do have similar players in a few positions now but lack the X-factor/playmaker/cutting edge in a similar way they also did hence the Cantona signing and later the failed Veron signing.

Looking at the Barkley--Deulofeu--Lukaku route which has given us lots of assists and goals we need to have the same on the left side and also our own X-Factor player who can break down the WBA types of the league.

Also missing the well rounded full backs, midfield general (keane) and the superstar centre backs (Stam/Vidic etc) of course...but a good system and style of play which is easy on the eye.

C:

As expected of course i would like us to be "the young entertainers" of the league and also europe. We have some excellent young players in the side now and more coming through like Galloway and the seemingly endless waves of midfielders in the youth teams.

It would be nice to be known as a very exciting attacking team across Europe with young players all also increasing our "Global Brand" and making us a well known iconic club.

How about yourself? What would your own thoughts be if you were Farhad Moshiri and were able to build the club back to greatness....?

Think we have to accept that if Moshiri is determined to take us forward and create this mythical "dynasty" then almost everything and everybody we have now will change.
This includes the board, the ground, the players, the manager, commercial activity and lots more besides. It will be a difficult time and some of us may not find it to our liking, but things staying the same will not be an option.
Unless Moshiri decides he is happy with plucky little Everton finishing in the bottom half of the Premier League with the occasional distraction of a cup run.

If we can change the manager, half the team, the teams mindset, the fans mindset, the board, the boards mindset, the ambition of the club, the stadium, keep the top players, sign new top players, defend a lead, stop conceding goals, clone Rom, get a better half time show...then we'll win the league.

It's easy when you think about it. Pull your finger out Everton

What a surprise. Yet another thread becomes an 'I hate Martinez' tirade.
Just lucky our new shareholder doesn't read any of this or he'll believe he's come to a club with very limited imagination.
I think it would be good to see a lot more young players coming through who are confident on the ball and the players around them. It's been depressing in the past to see people wearing the blue shirt who just wanted shut of it as soon as possible.
Be great if the backbone of the side had grown up playing together and felt a connection to the club.

As far as that x factor player goes I think that could just be more options off the bench. There are only a handful of players across the world who can regularly pick through teams who completely park the bus without any ambition.

Unfortunately, you're spot on.

Ignoring the obvious one which is a new manager, we've got plenty of players who we overrate and are too limited, we're crying out for a new ground, and we need to make ourselves even more commercially attractive.

Big rebuilding job ahead, which will at least start in the summer with a changing of the guard with the likes of Howard, Hibbert, Osman, Pienaar, McGeady, Gibson and Mirallas all expected to leave. It's a start.
