Deathspike

Player Valuation: £1m

TeamTalk is linking him with us. Apparently we're competing with QPR and Norwich for him.

Watched him yesterday in the League 1 Play-Off final and he was definitely very lively. He came very close to scoring several times and grabbed one goal in the end.

I'm not too sure he would be able to make the step up though, plus he's 27.

Think he could do the job? Anybody know any more about this lad?

I watched that game yesterday and he didn't look good enough to me, he missed some sitters in the first half and the goal he scored took a wicked deflection. I would like to think we can sign players of a slightly higher calibre than this lad

Yeah, I mean he was getting quite a few chances. But on the other hand, he definitely should have scored a couple of those sitters.

I think we need more of a proven goalscorer. Beckford made the step up from League One quite well in my opinion, but I don't think Mackail-Smith could do the same thing.

I'm the Canadian counterpart to Spike! xD

I think this lad is class! Ive seen a few games of him and he causes absoloute havoc in the defence, has loads of passion and is very determined, and is top scorer in league 1. Put it this way id much rather have this lad than Bothroyd who has a massive attitude, doesnt work hard enough, has only had one good season and left cardiff because he wanted more money!

Would terrorise Championship defences, but get laughed at by any defence in the Premier League top ten.

So, it's a no from me. In fact I'd be downright depressed if we do sign him.

We are everton we should be getting linked to players like kevin doyle and daniel sturridge not bothroyd and mackail smith how times have changed.
I remember the time loads of teams were after lineker and cottee and they came to us cos we are everton then the fat mincer took over and we are scavaging about league 2 and 3 cheers bill

I read somewhere the fee is potentially 3M, We should really be going for Long who would cost 4-5M and is younger, has played in the top flight and has a resale value. We need a striker who will hit the ground running, not have someone who will have to adjust to jumping 2 divisions and then MAYBE make the grade after 6 months of coming off the bench and the odd start here and there.

Since when is Doyle such a great player? I've heard a few people mention him in that kind of light.

I support the Irish national team and I still have to say he's nothing more than a decent, bottom half PL striker. I doubt he's the 15+ a season man we've been looking for.

Moyes has always been known for picking up the odd gem from the lower leagues.

It's depressing that it seems to be his #1 port of call now, ugh.
