Could losing 4 nil to Liverpool be the greatest thing that ever happened to Everton?

I always remember being at Wembley in 95, when Dave Watson lifted the FA cup and my mate said to me " This is effing great " if only I knew about last night then I could have said " Just wait till January 2014, we get stuffed 4 nil at Anfield. It will be 10 times better than this "

Listen, have faith! In fact, forget faith, have a logical reason for believing this will spur us on to bigger and better things. We're a top side, with top players and a top manager. We will only get better. And this result will be the catalyst for that!

If we won yesterday, i'd probably be less confident that we'll beat Aston Villa on Saturday!

Football works in funny ways sometimes, that's all i'm saying!

Confidence and belief, though. Winning leads to winning as a rule.

Ha, if only!

Look, all i'm asking is that you try and see where i'm coming from and consider that maybe, just maybe, this will have positive effect for the rest of the season. I'm certainly confident that it will!

So basically every time we do well, we can bump the 'wearing the mask' thread and every time we do badly we can bump this thread.

We can mock him no matter what happens.

Thanks Fat Stan. Than.

Since when have Everton EVER played by the rules! Seriously!

Winning tends to lead to winning yes. But it can also lead to COMPLACENCY (as it clearly did with us!). But losing to bitter rivals in such a traumatic way can bring out the big guns like no other way could!

What Stan is trying to say is that You've got to think for yourselves! You're all individuals!

Consider the lilies

It's not as bad as it could have been for a few reasons.

*Liverpool should have scored more against us because they carved us open with every counter-attack.
*Arsenal, Chelsea and Newcastle could only pick up a point each.
*Spurs were battered at home (a touch unfortunately) and will be without Rose for a game.
*Arsenal and Newcastle will be missing Flamini and Remy respectively following their sending offs.
*Lukaku's injury could have been a lot worse.
*Mirallas probably had his best game for us in a long time.
*We'll get stronger when we have Coleman, Jagielka, Distin, Barkley, Pienaar, Deulofeu, McGeady and Traore fully fit and raring to go.
*It was nice (for Evertonians) to see a rift between Suarez and Sturridge. Hopefully it will keep bubbling up and they'll stop passing to each other, have a punch up and get suspended for a while.
