Contracts

Distin has signed a one year extension, Coleman signed another deal last year for 60k a week if memory serves me right. Could do with offering him and Stones improved contracts to ward of the Vultures, Barkley has two years left, again he needs sorting quickly.

I watched the game on Sky yesterday, 5 mins hadn't been played and Martin Tyler and Gary Nevillle had Coleman, Stones, Barkley, Baines all heading for the exit door, they also were at pains to point out Barry, Lukaku and Deulefeo would all be returning to their parent clubs. They just don't like the fact we are BOSS now.

He also mentioned a few times that the majority of the team was signed by Moyes too. The beaut.

No one except us has ever liked the fact we've been boss.

Not sure why some people are surprised, or even bothered.

Anyway, get the lot of 'em signed up!

It is just annoying Groucho, every week the papers have somebody leaving. We all know it is bs but i hate when they show complete contempt towards us. Instead of marvelling at how good we have been they just want to pat us on the back and disband the team whilst doing so.

Champions league place will shut them all up ;)

kone and Naismith aren't good enough....we lost alot of ground in jan/feb when lukaku was out injured (dominated Chelsea & spurs but lost because we couldn't score)....even 2 draws from those games would have us ahead of Arsenal now....
with Europe next season will will have maybe 10 extra games...we need 2 top strikers.....

What! Kone has made 5 appearances for us, injured.
Naismith has been a revelation, i know its fashionable to dislike players who are not banging in 30 goals a season, but Naismith contributions have been incredible. If it wasn't for the growth of Stones & Coleman & signing of, and subsequent consistency of McCarthy, he would be player of the season.

....I don't think any of the key players will want to do a Heitinga and run down their contracts, especially the younger guys. Saying that, the likes of Stones and Coleman have already done enough to have substantial increases and avoid the lure of bigger money elsewhere.

I love Kev, but he has history of moving on about every two years i think. Strikes me as a bit of a snide ( although i DO love and rate him ) Reckon he would love a big money move abroad.

Someone posted his stats for this season , 10 assists and 8 goals.

I have one major worry, who is going to manage Barcelona next season.. I dread to think what would happen if Martinez left us. The players would follow him i fear, such has been his influence.

I am pretty confident he won't leave for another English club, But if Barcelona come knocking :(

Martinez won't go to Barca so soon. They will surely go for the likes of De Boer, Simeone, Klopp before they look at Martinez.

I can't believe the earlier post saying Naismith isn't good enough, have you watched Everton recently? Steven Naismith is a typical Everton player and gives 110% that lad deserves recognition from what I see he isn't the tallest of players (a la Cahill) but wins every header. He has come up with some important goals and absolutely deserved to start yesterday.

Naismith would play as much as he has done this season but we need abit more to take that next step....Europa league would take alot of our squad next season (as would champs league)......

i agree Naismith gives 110%, I'm not knocking him......he's a good player having a very good season.....but he's limited, and not a top striker imo....
and if we have £35m plus to spend, our strikers is where i think we need to focus on....our backline is probably the best in the league....our midfield will be even better next if we keep deulofeu & Barry (Barkley and McCarthy will improve again)....

Problem arising there is Jags, Stones and Distin. Acaraz played alright yesterday but the poulton vics defence would've looked good 2nd half yesterday. Full back wise I think there is cover needed there especially if we are in Europe not forgetting tho that Oviedo will be back. If we sign Barry and get another centre mid. That leaves obviously attack I think one striker in whether its lukaku who knows. So a right back as cover for seamus, a centre mid and one striker plus also and this is a big one for me a back up to Tim Howard as personally I don't rate Joel one bit I'm afraid when he is in goal and if Roberto changes keeper for cup matches it could be a worry. It will be interesting to see which kids come through next season.

Bony has two more goals in the league this season than Kone got with Wigan last year.

And your point is?!......

Kone, signed from La Liga by eventually relegated Wigan, scored what, 12-13 league goals in his first season in English football for a struggling side.

Bony for struggling Swansea as got what in his first full season in English football, 14-15 league goals, 20 or so in all comps and was used as a sub for a lot of the first part of the season as Laudrup broke him into the league gently due to him not having much of a pre season?! Now considering all that, that's some going in them circumstances IMO!
