How do you reckon they were built?
I don't know but apparently even machines today would struggle so how would people have done it by pushing them? Also apparently the time scale of when they were built means the blocks were put in place impossibly fast.

Back in the day everyone was a member of one union or another and with full employment a party that works for the benefit of union members and leaders (ie. everyone) is preferable to one who works for the benefit of a small elite and corporate interests of its members

There are many more people that are customers than there are employees. The forgotten majority. So whilst the small number of train drivers have done very well out of Bob Crow's tactics down the years, the much larger number of train passengers have seen prices rocket.

Bob Crowe wasnt the leader of the drivers union , and the price has more to do with the profits that shareholders have taken out of the system along with the pension surplus of bobs members , while not paying a penny in due to the government giving them a holiday on payments.

How would trading a private monopoly with a public monopoly make any difference (or vice versa)? Markets only work when there is competition. No competition, whether through a state or private monopoly, and it only benefits rent seekers.

Aye, not wrong there. Cost me £80 to get from London to Birmingham today (1 way, standard class). Close on £140 for both way. Mental. Anyway, as has been mentioned, this is probably a bit off topic like :)

Back on topic, does anybody know the name of the reporter who was supposed to be killed by arms dealers for saying it was them who were going to plunge the world into war.
Read about it years ago now not sure if it was a story or real.

To be fair, had I bought the tickets in advance I could have got it for £20, but that kind of difference is quite incredible.

Yeah I was booking 5 regular class tickets and it said like 48 quid.. I thought thats not bad each.. But that was for the 5!! 2 months in advance, obviously not at peak times. Couldnt believe it so tried first class! 220 quid! nice!!! First class is pretty decent on the Virgin train to be fair, done it several times..

Bear with me, my theory...

Everything has a frequency, you, me, rocks, plants, sound etc. Sound has a frequency range that can affect different matter, its frequency changes the frequency of another thing, like an opera singer can shatter glass by hitting a note, the breaking is the altering of the glass's frequency.

Back in the 20s-30s a German archaeologist was in Tibet where he met some monks, the monks were using 'singing bowls', large metal bowls that have the rim rubbed (oo-er) with an object like a pestle, this emits a sound, pitch or tone of a particular frequency. The monks showed this technique in altering the frequency of stones using sound and were able to lift large stones with their fingers.

Recently the US intended to use sonic defences at its embassies around the world, if attacked these would give off an ultra low frequency that renders those in close proximity violently ill. NASA did research into it years ago too.

The influence of sound over matter, Cymatics..see vid

I believe this is how the stones were both cut with precision and transported and lifted to build the pyramids.

Now I have to work out what made the sounds :)

Tesla either reverse engineered or rediscovered this technology as well by all accounts. Harmonic resonance I think it's called. He almost brought down the tenement he was working in as a result if the legend is to be believed. Tesla himself is also well worth reading up on. For his time his work was astounding and much of today and even tomorrow's technology has evolved from Tesla's work. Absolutely fascinating story. Much of his work was suppressed or attributed to others as he was Serbian and America obviously didn't want to attribute modern technology to scientists from the USSR. When he died his lab was ransacked and all of his work disappeared. I think it's been mentioned on here in another thread but another one worth reading about is the brown note.
