Ladies and Gentleman the first thing Thelwell has done right since he got here
Let's speak again in a few months when we have tark and keane at the back leaking goals from everywhere. Worst football decisions since the signing of maupay. Anybody with basic football knowledge will know that losing both mina and coady in the same window is crazy. I am hoping that it was coady that decided against moving to us on a perm....if it was thelwell then we are doom and back again fighting relegation next season.

Let's hope we don't regret the decision in signing a top professional for 4.5m

So as things stand

Coady and Mina replacement is Branthwaite
Tarkowski stays

Keane, Holgate and Godfrey....can't be doing with any of them and want them all punted.

Waiting to see if Coleman is getting an extension

Patterson has had far too any injuries

Mykolenko is unbelievably limited

So just rb, cb, cb, lb to sort and we'll be sound

100% this.

I reckon his wages would’ve been pretty high despite what some are saying. He’s not a starter and I doubt Dyche is planning to play a back 3 so it’s probably the right decision.

We could do with more players with his attitude though…
Yeah I'd have to assume that's probably what killed it in the end. Look at it this way Mina was certainly on over £100k, Tarkowski probably was too considering he was free. Coady would've expected the same and really I think all of us probably don't want to sign a 30 year old on those wages, especially with Branthwaite coming through.

Disappointing as he was a very cheap option and seems a good character, I hope it doesn't mean we'll be relying on Keane as third choice.

Nkonkou did well here before going on loan. LB right there.

I take the opposite view - Branthwaite slots in instead of him/Mina, we then spend the £4.5m plus wages elsewhere.

Not saying he did badly coz he didn’t, I just think we have to be ultra-ruthless - how old is he? I also think the ‘kopite’ shouts on him are unfair, and I hope they’re in jest.
Branthwaite is unknown at premier league level...let's stop gambling the future of this club when there isn't a need to

This is a huge assumption that Dyche thinks a 20 year old is ready for 38 games in the premiership. And he's not gonna know this until pre-season.

Maybe we just don't have the 4.5 millions he would cost...that would be a plausible scenario as surely thelwell is not braindead.
