Confirmed: Martinez New Everton Manager - All Reaction Here

I saw this analogy of Martinez and Moyes on a football site, posted by a Leeds fan; HAD to post it here!!

It's like the guy who stays with his childhood sweetheart, by now she's not the pretty young thing she was all those years ago and any chance of reliving the glory days of a bag off outside or quick blower are long gone, but she's ground you down, to the point now you're at the age where it's too late to start all over again, for fear of what's on the other side, the unknown.

Everton were quite happy under Moyes, having sex on birthdays and maybe new year - wanting more but not daring to ask for it should they fall foul and end up sad and lonely.

Then suddenly the wife ups and leaves you for her boss at Woolworths, and what do you know, first night out back on the horse and you find yourself with a young bird on your arm, doing all manner of bedroom antics you didn't even know they had names for wondering why you never left before, while she's cooking dinner for a guy who drives a Lexus but lives in a bungalow on the end of his mum's house.

:D

Hahaha that's quality that.

"who drives a Lexus but lives in a bungalow on the end of his mum's house."

Possibly the best description of the falsehood Manchester utd have become - no longer a proper football club but tourist attraction and merchandising outfit with fans threatening and ripping into each other non-stop on their forums.

Classless tools.

I love it how quickly he feels like one of us.

I admit I had my doubts when he was first hired (I personally wanted Laudrup), but he has been really impressive so far.

Hahaha, brilliant.

I for one couldn't be happier with Martinez right now. I know things won't always go so smoothly as they are now, but it's a very nice time to be an Everton fan.

I think what Roberto has done in his short time here is let us see that EFC arre still a massive football club and that there is life after Moyes.

Even if it goes pear shaped we have had a glimpse of what we were before and we will be again.

That we maybe even are now.

Good ol' Bobby......he has become an Everton legend in thre or four fun packed months.

I guess when you get close to relegation, you accept mediocrity, or best of the rest mentality. Perhaps we were lulled into a false sense of security based on regular top ten finishes. We're all nodding along with Bill, accepting the fact that without a cash injection, we should be happy with the top ten finish and the "Oh, so close" attitude.
RM comes along, brings a few mates, and somehow convinces two of the "big" clubs to give us their brightest prospects for the season, and suddenly the good players that played to a dour, mediocre mentality, lift their game & here we are.
Build the confidence, raise our profile, and who knows who will want to be a part of the adventure next season?

I'm happy with the job Martinez is doing so far.

However I am not someone who forgets the tremendous job David Moyes did for Everton.

I find all the sniping at him ridiculous and very small time.

The sniping has a context to it that you are very well aware of.

As for 'tremendous job', well, that's very debateable. Made us tough to beat from a team that was chronic under one of the worst managers we had in living memory. Happy to concede that, but that was his only 'success'.
