I was absolutely fuming that we signed Lescott instead of Robert Huth, and I told anybody who would listen that Coleman would never make a Premier League full back.

I'm also convinced that every time we sign somebody i've never heard of that they will automatically be a world beater. Still waiting...

Gareth Barry. Last year he was so bad i said i wished he was injured at the start of this year, resulting in long thread ban.

I'm sorry, Gareth, you have been excellent this season.

Lukaku. Thought he was grossly overrated and overpriced. £28m for what I believed to be a big risk as to whether he'd ever become real quality.

Although I still find him occasionally frustrating, he's pleasingly proving me very wrong.

May he continue to do so.

I got very frustrated with Lukaku for a lot of the last two years though I don't think I ever fully turned on him (I am baiting the vaults with that one).

In his first year especially I thought "the [Poor language removed] first touch wouldn't bother me if he was our player, but all we're doing is developing a world beater for Chelsea." However in his second year when he was our player I continued to fume, and for that there can be no excuse.

For those of you of a certain age I can remember being ready to hate Fred Pickering after Alex Young, the Golden Vision, was dropped to make way for him. Pickering then scored a hat trick on his debut. The King was dead, God save the King.

Thought Alkaraz was gonna be good
.. Then he was injured..
.. Then he was terrible..
.. Then terrible and injured again..
.. So I wrote him off and he came back and played quite well..
.. So I admitted I was wrong..
.. Then he left on a free because he was rubbish..
Basically I should of shut up after slating him.

Recent ones include Kone, Barry and Deulofeu. I'm still unsure about Kone though.
Going back in time I thought Ablett, Campbell and P Neville would be terrible but they did ok.

Campbell was a hero. Neville was an awful shitehawk who now looks like he has contracted the AIDS his performances long warranted. And through playing for both football teams and having garries named after him Gary Ablett had a more profound affect on the cultural and mental life of the city of Liverpool than anyone since John Lennon.
