I boxed with many on here over him. You all told me he'd be amazing. I told you all he was the next Jermaine Jenas. We were both wrong. He was worse.

He had me doubting my sanity that lad. I just couldn't see the hype.

I actually thought lineker was a terrible replacement for gray for about 10 weeks. He went on to score 40 goals for us then get 6 for england in the world cup before Barcelona came for him. I doubt its possible to be more wromg about a player than I was. Helmet I am

Rodwell would have been a top player if things had gone differently

his two major weaknesses in the end was moyes coaching of him. He was never allowed to really develop as a player, considering his age he was getting asked to play different roles in the team, even as a right winger once or twice! You can't expect a young player to really develop changing his role more than once.

The other sadly was genetically. His injuries was due to a growth spurt rather than bad luck so if he was here or at city he still would have suffered them and still would have hit that brick wall.
