The John Stones poll thread is an embarrassment to Everton's fan base and GOT in particular. 44.8% of you would sell him in the summer?! People are talking about flogging him to Barcelona, has anyone been good enough to go from Everton to Barcelona in the past 25 years? If you think he's good enough to play for Barcelona, be it now or ever in the future, then why in God's name do you want to sell him? We don't need the money, Bill is finally leaving never mind the TV deal.

So what if he isn't 'indispensable' like a couple other players in the squad. It'll be hard enough keeping Rom without selling his most valuable team mates in front of him, and in five years time when Ross is still getting abuse at Goodison every time he plays the ball backwards Stones will be playing in the CL knockouts. You're entitled to think he's overrated, I personally don't, he was having a better season than Ramiro before Pique stuck him in his World XI, no wonder if the hype went to his head after that. His performance in Swansea was the pure greatest I have ever witnessed from a defender. His slide tackle is bloody flawless (except when he isn't fully fit, playing out of position, low on confidence, against a £50m player that is).

Part of me wants to sell him. If half of us think we're better off with an eight figure cheque we don't deserve him. If you can't be arsed watching him make mistakes and improving, have you seen Ramiro play? I love the guy but he has a brainfart practically every game and is still adjusting to the EPL. If you think we can use the money to buy the ideal GK, left winger and replacement centre half and create an Evertonian nirvana this isn't football manager. Bale, Suarez, Ronaldo, Sterling, it simply doesn't work - he won't stay forever but his contract has 3.5 years. Part of me wants to sell him for the sake of his career, Roberto couldn't organise a piss-up in a brewery never mind a defence. Just don't sell him to another English club, ever, under any circumstance.

Goodison used to be notorious when the team had mediocre players and a small club mentality. Then we get some ace players and now they're the ones who fear coming to play here, Roberto was telling the - ah you're distracting yourself Lachlan. My point is this: if you think we would benefit from selling him in the summer then your opinion is wrong and abominable. On a side note I was just reading AA Gill: "thirty-three coups and two elections sounds like a political joke. It's Haiti's CV" laughing out loud. Roberto had a dream...

It's too late for this, I know that. I do...but I'm so so sorry.
