Computer games.

Played FFVII remake and it met my lofty expectations, the original is still my favourite game of all time.

Think the developers are taking a massive gamble with that ending though, it's safe to assume future installments will be a brand new story now. Want to trust they'll make it epic but the old game is so beloved why make any massive changes? I hope they know what they're doing.

I know mate. I've been thinking about the ending for several days now and I'm left feeling disappointed that they aren't following the original story. Though they've done a fantastic job with the characters involved, so good I think it would be difficult to have them in a story and for it to be bad, I'm not too optimistic.
I look at the director for Remake Tetsuya Nomura, and the the writer Kazushige Nojima and over the last 20-odd years those two have been writing a lot of prententious extradimensional/'challenging fate' stories like FF13, Kingdom Hearts (which has some of the most stupid convoluted writing ever seen in video games imo) and the awful story in FF15. They just don't fill me with confidence that they'll keep the story of FF7 Remake grounded.

There's so much stuff in the FF7 world that could be used to create an amazing alternate story if it stays away from the prententious stuff. Like Shinra Deepground, Genesis, the Tsviets, the Turks, Wutai, Vincent, the Cetra, even the Weapons could be more story involved. The capacity for a brilliant story is there, but I'm not sure they'll make use of it.

GTA 6 trending on twitter because it's about as early in development as it can be. Oh well, maybe it'll drop before I'm 50.
I was reading some rumours about it the other day and it's possible it could be set in the 1970/1980's and heavily influenced by the TV series Narcos.

Would be brilliant if so. You can't beat a 70's/80's soundtrack.

FF7 Remake has got me back watching/listening to a lot of older FF stuff on the youtubes
What an unbelievable banger this was from a PSP game:

I’d love to see GTA return to the wackiness of Vice City. GTA V was great (and better in certain ways), but it was modern to a fault and the game was a bit too focused on narrative which worked WAY better for a game like RDR2 where an actual story exists. GTA should be nonstop action without the silly family quests (unless they are actually relevant).

Tempte to start RDR2 from the start and take my time. Anyone else done this?

I was a major fan of the first one I 100% everything on it. The second one is a work of art but it is way too easy and it ruined it for me in the end. If you are going to go though it slow I’d try and 100% it as your taking time on story that’s a bit challenging. Getting all the satchels and stuff.

I don't know, San Andreas worked almost perfectly. V just had crappy storylines and characters. It's the reason I hate IV. Niko keeps the cousin alive for no good reason. If Trevor was acting so ridiculously from the off when he arrives in the City then he'd have been killed quickly. The son should have been beaten or killed or left on his own, same for the whore wife. It's hard to play a game when the characters keep making decision after decision you can't justify.

Definitely getting into some gaming this weekend, gonna leave the sports alone as I put enough time on Pes and f1 as it is.

I have rdr2 there with a while and only played a small bit of it so I'll give that a go.

Another game that I have ready to go that I havent played is ratchet and clank, played the demo years back, picked it up cheap, but never played it, remember enjoying the demo though.

I've just got the last of us returned from a loan, been so long, that'll get a play as well, great game.
