Computer games.

Honestly nothing new, gotta agree with @Dylan .

Sure, there's detail, but it's literally a CoD clone with supposedly better graphics.

Cod clone ?

It's only similarity to cod is it's a fps, the gameplay is a million miles away from call of duty. It's more in line with a survival mod for Arma such as Breaking Point or Exile with the aesthetic of S.T.A.L.K.E.R and Metro 2033 games.

That trailer is all action but the game is very slow paced and tactical.

Soooo an Arma clone with darker graphics?

Not entirely groundbreaking is it though? The inventory is a quite good thing, but not one that will make me splash some cash on the game. Honestly until something actually groundbreaking is done to the genre it's gonna be the same old same old. The attempt at all the ballistics and details planned will make the game insanely heavier and I doubt many people are gonna go "you know what? I'll but a top-end PC just so I can play this game decently". That is unless they pull the optimisation of the decade out of their arses.

The fact it's made in Unity (I believe) isn't exactly encouraging as well.

*I have 'followed' the game and will probably play it when I get to my PC, but am I dead excited (or am I going to not pirate it)? Not really.

Also they'll release DLC later, which is already disappointing.

I never claimed it to be groundbreaking in terms of gameplay, just that it's got the most insane attention to detail of any shooter I've seen. It's got similarities to Arma mods but it's much more fluid to play and a slicker overall product. Even though it's online it reminds me more of the Metro 2033 games and they were fantastic.

Myself and a few mates have had this near top of our wanted list for over a year, i think the same applies to lots of people into hardcore tactical fps's.

Probably, and more power to you, but I remember the same kind of hype about Insurgency (which is kind of the same minus inventory) and it's never become what it was touted to.

I haven't seen or heard of the game, that is why I asked. To me it just looks like a slower paced military tactical shooter. Of which there are a dime a dozen.

Those games just aren't my jam anymore, so I will give giving it a miss, unless it shows up on a Humble Bundle or it pops in a Steam sale for ridiculously cheap.

I get what you mean, and same really.

Probs won't be on either for a while really.

Only i would buy a 320 pound computer and play old games on it!

Waiting until i have the spare money to go mad on steam i have got a PS2 emulator and started to (legally in a way) get the games as well. Timesplitters 2 and Burnout revenge so far with Okami / battlefront / Tony Hawks 3 at least to come as well. Good mix of games to play and relive my past gaming.

Looking forward to sitting down and playing them next chance i get. Emulator didnt have any sound last time i checked it but quick check this morning and the sound has returned. got a unofficial xbox 1 controller plugged in as well.

I do have one query, has anyone got a PS3 controller to work properly? google tells me Motionin Joy but all i got was a random webpage and changing the date didn't do anything neither. So is there any other straightforward and easy way to get a ps3 controller to work with it because i would prefer to play with one of them.

I followed this guide for mate. Works for PS4 as well. ;)

Oh, The Long Dark came out of Early Access with its story mode a few days ago.

I only got a few hours at it with works/kids but it seems very polished (although, that is expected....TLD has been kicking heiny for the last 3 years in EA)
